Wheel cleaning
Picked up some wheels for my autox tires today at the junkyard. They are in decent shape except they're filthy as can be with dried on brake dust. I've tried brake cleaner, carb cleaner, the engine cleaner at the car wash, zap all to no avail (Zap works if I scrub it in real good but it really isn't made for metal and says not to use it on it).
Any ideas for getting the grime off?

wow, can of worms...but hey, i'll add my OPINION!
i used maguire's "hot rims" comes in a pink spray bottle... spray it on...use a rim brush...wash off....check out my locker and see what it did for my rims! and they was dirty as heck when i first got her Kelli good luck and congrets on the new wheels!

Dirty really doesn't describe these wheels I got as carrying them the 1/4 mile to the checkout I didn't get a bit of dirt on me. I'll give it a shot.

I've had good luck with Eagle 1 brand A2Z wheel cleaner if that's easier to find.
