REMOTE battery

1) What battery does it take ?
2) If I change the battery do I need to reprogram it ?
3) How do you reprogram it. ?
Remote works to unlock the car but then if I try to lock it right away ( within a min or so ) it does nothing .

Re: REMOTE battery

It takes size A27 if I remember correctly. (I'm like 99% sure).

The batteries that originally came with it were like 6 little watch batteries stacked on top of each other, so don't be too surprised if that's what falls out. DON'T overtighten the little screws that hold the thing together, the remote will crack very easily, because it's very old. Seriously.

You won't need to reprogram it.

Remote works to unlock the car but then if I try to lock it right away ( within a min or so ) it does nothing. Not normal

To reprogram the entire security system, follow the instructions HERE

Re: REMOTE battery

I had the problem with my car locking and then not wanting to unlock right away or sometimes I even had to use the key to get in. But then the car would start up just fine.

Eventually I replaced my car battery and it never happened again. Also, those batteries for the remote you can get at Pep Boys if you have one around. They're cheap and I got some in a 2 pack, so I have extras for later on in the glove box.

Re: REMOTE battery

I got the last battery Radio shack had. they have been recalled in Conn. they have lead in them. The $ was right FREE. He said they held back a few on the recall and are making their customers happy with free batteries. they are next to a Subaru dealership. works great now no re -programing thanks guys
