Do you ever have any problem with your starter not functioning?
You don't have the bosch relay on your starter do you?

Just wondering...

.
The "very intermittent click" is more likely than not how you got that starter circuit code 12. No problem unless your click becomes more frequent. It probably will

Re: Code 12

The Bratmobile "click" got increasingly frequent until it would not start. It was the inhibiter switch on the transmission.

The inhibitor switch is pretty easy to test.

Have to catch it in the act though
