Door Panel ?

Hi im attempting to change my front speakers in my svx and ive had a history of not being able to get my door panels on once i get them off, I was curious if i could cut out the speaker surrounds on the front door to access the speakers, Im not sure if ill have enough room to work or not, I could just find a way to reattach them for future use, If anyone has done this or has any suggestions please help
Thanks

This is a bad idea.

Take your time and remove the entire panel. You will also need adapter plates for the speakers.

The speaker adapters are on ebay for about $15 shipped.

Re: Door Panel ?

Thanks i found the ebay site for the adapters, Once i get those in i gotta find some speakers, ill just go fairly cheap, sound isnt terrible important but im running on only 1 working speaker and that 1 is blown so anything has got to be better, I just worry that i am gonna be stuck with new speakers and then not be able to get my panel on right

Re: Door Panel ?

Just wondering what you'd do if you needed to replace the window switch...

The trick is to hang the top of the door panel back into place first, then work your way down. Hardest part is keeping the door lock aligned. If the plastic snaps along the bottom edge are all boogered-up from somebody trying to force the thing, then I could see you having a problem.

Re: Door Panel ?

The panel is easy to remove, just don't forget that hidden screw under the door handle, it's under a little removable cover. I've heard of that one tripping up a few people.
