Question Driver's door courtesy light

I'm so pissed,

I just noticed today that my driver's door courtesy light isn't working and the dealer was supposed to have taken care of it. I bought a new bulb and put it in, but it's still not working...... any suggestions? My passenger door works just fine so I don't think it's a fuse......unless they're on separte fuses?

Minor things really irritate me....I have several blown bulbs that need replacing, but the last time I attempted with my other SVX(may she rest in piece), I ended up having to take it to the dealer for a whole new hazard switch......

Frustrated in Amish country.........

on your dash, when you have the car on, and the door open, does it show that it is open?

The DOOR OPEN icon works, but the light is inoperative? I had the same symptoms, and after trying two new bulbs concluded there had to be dirt in the socket. There was -- end of problem.

To be sure, check the socket with a voltmeter. If there's no juice, the light may be on one of the fuses - that's also easy to check.

Open the door apart and follow the wire to the main input. Check and see if there is juice there. You have to keep it going till you find a place that is lacking the juice. Otheriwse, hook it up to some other juice outlet and run another wire down there.
