Stupid Antenna
Alright, so I noticed today that when I got out of my car, the antenna wouldn't go down all the way. So I hopped out and took a look, and sure as ****, the damn thing bent at the bottom-most link.
It was so bad I just snapped it off, pushed it down, and disconnected the relay and as of right now, I have no antenna... So here's the dealio, I'm wondering, back when my pal had a celica we retrofitted an S2000 antenna to it, and we have a couple laying around cause we bought them in a pack on ebay (they're probably not actually OEM, but whatever) I'm just wondering if I'll be able to plug that antenna in and have it work? I realize it might take some work, but I have an idea of how I bent my antenna, and the way I drive... It's gonna keep happening... Any suggestions/comments welcome.

If you check on eBay, there are plenty of generic [i.e. non-OEM] aerials for sale to fit the SVX. Cheap enough too.
It should fit is my best guess. Are you aware the SVX also has an extra aerial built into the rear screen? You can see it at the top of the rear screen. It is separate from the screen heater. If your radio is original, it may have both aerials connected to the receiver. They originally used the "Diversity" antenna signal differentiation system. If your radio has been changed, it is likely the second lead could have been disconnected. Finding and connecting this lead at the left side of your transmission tunnel would at least allow you to have reception while fixing the outer aerial. Joe

Actually...
I have been getting some reception, just not as good as before. But I generally just listen to CDs anyways, so it's really no big deal. It's more of a, just in case. That and I'm kinda curious to see if the S2K antenna will work.
We'll see.

If you have the spare, try it.
All you have to lose is the time spent doing it. They are all 12v. It ought to work, so long as your relay does its job of switching on and off the power. Joe
