I fixed mine. I'm not crystal clear on remembering how I did it, but it involved some gel superglue. Take it apart, glue the busted parts together, and it should work again.

I have a couple of broken ones. I will have to try the superglue method.

I've glued mine as well and it's been working fine ever since. The stuff to watch out for is breaking the pieces off again when reinstalling the buttons. I'm also very gently with the switched and make sure to use only the force necessary to operate the windows.

On a older subaru it started to not work, and the cause was the inital contact would arc a bit and over the years the build up of soot made the switch not work right.

I recently had my driver's side switch stop rolling down the passenger window. I plan on taking my door apart to see why. I have bypassed the switch a few times inorder to run some experiments so I think my issue is with my lines (I think I have a loose connection). Electronics being my field, I could always take a look at someone's broken switch and see if I can repair it. I am trying my best to remember what I saw when I took the switch completely apart 9 months ago but my memory is getting fuzzy. If I am wrong about the wires on my switch I might take the switch apart and verify its not the switch. I guess I better go find my pictures and notes from when I took apart the switch.

take care!

im replacing my drivers side switch assembly tomorrow or today... any tips on removing the four switches without damaging any of the surrounding trim? I see the screw cover under the door latch, and the screws under the felt/cloth piece. any others?

You have to remove the entire panel. Two screws hold the front edge of the interior door panel to the door. They're exposed when the door's open. Once you have all the screws out, pop the bottom loose and lift the whole thing upward, then unplug the power leads. Two or three screws hold the 4-switch assembly to the inside of the door panel; it's easy. The only minor hassle is lining-up the door lock when you go to replace the door panel. Use a magnetic-tip screwdriver to replace that little screw underneath the door handle.

Yeah, you have to remove the whole door interior panel. It's somewhat of a PITA, putting it back on. Taking it off is no big deal.

If you've been wanting to replace that door speaker, now would be an ideal time.

Really, I've had the door panels off both of mine several times, and it's no big deal. And believe me, I'm no mechanic. Once you have the screws out, it just basically pops off. Replacing it, just hook it at the top, align the lock button, ease it downward, align the snaps at the bottom and pop it back into place. Then replace the screws. That little snap-cover-dealie under the handle gives me more trouble than anything.

Mine just started doing this last week. The passenger switch brings the window up right away, but the master switch for the pass. window will not bring the window up anymore.
I'll take some pictures when I take mine apart next week or this week. I think the plastic switch pivot might have broke.

I got a brandy new switch on order from subaru, and my door skin is already leaning on the garage wall. It wasnt all that hard to take off, just had to make sure all the screws were out before doing any yanking...

I thought about doing that too... but instead I just wrapped it with tin foil so it's brighter (ghetto in switch reflector).
