Track Days 1 2007
Went to Lime Rock first weekend in April. Had been scheduled to go in late March, but snow intervened. Did a few sessions with an instructor and then soloed. Wouldn't you know it, my solo session, I managed to spin. Not like last year, but much more slowly and controlled. Under heavy acceleration approaching the apex of the left-hander, back end starts coming around slowly. I countersteer to correct, but it won't stop, get sideways, and then complete the 180. Come to a stop completing the 180. Staring at 2 Corvettes bearing down on me. They frantically avoid, and no damage. Going much quicker now and obviously probing the limits of the car. Don't know whether I'm seeing more oversteer now because I'm really pushing the car, or tires are wearing out, or need a new alignment. Some pics. First one is in the start of the lefthander just before I spun.
 This is a picture of my buddy's car. He did 16 track days in it last year and has been promoted to HPDE 3. Only mods are springs, shocks, brake pads, front strut brace, wheels and tires. He is having a low-cost ball.  Finally, these guys drove their Noble M-400 to the track, pulling a tire trailer with their R compounds.

What does HPDE 3 mean? Is your buddy's car an SE-R or a regular 200SX? How does it do on the track?
Glad you're fine and they didn't hit on the track after you spun...

You wouldn't happen to know if the Noble is from PA? I see one just like that down the road from me all the time.

HPDE3 is a designation in the NASA Driver Education Program. HPDE1 is Novice for those who have less than 6 track days. HPDE1 Drivers always have instructors. HPDE2 is Intermediate, and have instructors until they are signed off to solo at each track. HPDE3 is Advanced, and HPDE4 is Expert. You keep a logback and get signed off by instructors to document your progress.
Don't know what kind of Nissan it is. Don't know where the Noble is from. I rode in one at Pocono last year that may have been from PA.
