Weird sound coming from somewhere in the dash

What's up people!! I've been an SVX owner for 2 months so far, did a few things, and have joined this group about 30 seconds ago, ready with my first post/problem in mind. I figured if anyone can figure this out, it has to be someone from here, because no one else, dealer included, could help me on this. I'm getting some kind of weird buzzing sound, like an electric motor, coming from the driver's side of the dash. It usually comes on about 20 minutes into my drive, no matter how I drive, no matter what's on and what's off. Has anyone ever had expereince with this before?

I almost said the speedometer needle...my old legacy was cable driven and when it got cold outside the little gear would hang up as I would drive a certain speed, but in this case the SVX is all electronic, so it can't be that obviously....

Do you feel a vibration in the steering wheel?....It could be your tires....Mine make a little buzzing sound at certain speeds.

I suspected the guage cluster, but there's absolutly nothing wrong with it as far as operation goes. As for the power steering, I know it's electronic (albiet prehistoric electronic assist), but would it cause that problem? I don't have to be moving, I could be stopped and in park. I really want to keep this car, so I've gotta find this problem.

Significant Technical Input
Maybe a HVAC actuator? Does it coincide with using the climate control? Or have you not checked your cd player in a while. If a disk is trying to eject while the door is closed it makes a racket in 1-3 second bursts.

No difference on what's on and what's off. CD or no CD. AC or no AC. Lights, "Manual" mode, you name it, it's either on or off and not affecting this thing.

Red face Well, since I'm here...

..I oughta' post...

Early SVX's had a dash "Click-cLACK-viVBBBrbrrrBration-noise" that was supposed to be solved by a factory re-call type fix. I remember it as a BIG Click! as the car (& the chassis/uni-body) twisted going around a corner at an exhuberant pace . The Stealers made a bunch by putting a supposed extra layer of tape/foam/insulation "somewhere" in the dash area to make the sound "go away".

I'm pretty sure some just stuck some tape/foam under the edges and others pulled the entire dash and, well...

Mine only "Clicks!" once and a while.

Cheers!

I've noticed mine buzzes a little bit in that location with the headlights on.
