Yes, 2.25" OD to 2.5" ID is what I meant. It gets confusing sometimes.
Anyways, when you're working with ANY stock exhaust make sure to measure over 9000 times and buy parts only once!

They do not work well on OBDII cars; the system is more sensitive and needed pre-cats to keep the CEL off. After these photos were taken, I removed the resonators and replaced them with small Magnaflow converters. No problems since.

In an OBDI car is it ok to remove the pre-cats all together or do they need to have something else put in place?

If you remove the pre-cats (or the main cat), it won't trigger a CEL. But you may not pass a real-life emissions test, if your state does them.
