Put put put
So with all the bad weather and no where really to go, I haven't driven my in SVX in a couple weeks. Today I decided I should probably at least start it up and drive it a bit. When I did it started okay, a little rough, but I thought that it would even out. However it did not. As it warmed up it just got rougher and rougher and then started making this putting sound "put put put" and there was an occasional shudder. It never stalled out, but almost felt it might. I drove it around a bit and it seemed to drive okay, but really rough, and sounded very strange. More "put put put" just faster. getting under the car while it was running I found the sound seems to be coming from right under the engine, maybe the exhaust.
Does anyone know what this is? Is it related to all the rain and moisture? How do I fix?

Re: Put put put
I had a Saab 9000 that did that put-put sound at low rpm's. The sound could really be seen & heard to be coming from the exhaust when I held a sheet of paper 6" from the tail pipe. I couldn't hear it higher rpms (like when drivingf) because it was lost in the 'normal' noise. Not very definitive a test, I'm afraid, but in my case it turned out to be a burned exhaust valve.
