Shake in the wheel ?????

My car has always drove really good with no shaking or pulling in the wheel. Today when I went to lunch I noticed the steering wheel has a little back n forth thing going on. Can anyone tell me what I might start with looking for whats wrong? TIA

Sorry you appear to have been left in the cold.

As the vibration has only just been noticed, it could be that you have lost a wheel balancing weight. A long shot could be something stuck tight to the tread of your tyre. All in all a check on wheel balance would be in order.

i had that same thing but when braking .The feeling that i found that was not right was that one of my front tire psi was at 29 not 32.

tire balance, or possibly alignment. Do a balance check first, because its cheaper. If that doesnt fix the problem, get an alignment done.

as everyone has been saying already, check to see if your tires are balanced correctly. Also if you have been playing in the snow/mud/sand then it could have accumulated in the wheels and thrown the balance off.

Swap the front wheels with the rear to see if it's tire/wheel related. If it doesn't change it may be suspension/brake related.

What does the steering wheel have to do with a jump start? Anyway, glad you solved your problem.

Mine did the same thing. When I got new tires and an alignment it drove perfectly straight and smooth.. not sure what the hell you're talking about with the jump start though.

As in you guys were slow getting started with your answers. I am guessing it was a rock or something in the tread because it isnt doing it today.....Gonna look around under it this weekend anyways.

It could just be from the cold hardening your tires overnight making flat spots on the bottom.

That would have to be some rock. No, really.

You might need to get your front suspension looked at. It's possible something like a tie rod end or ball joint is worn.

Did you notice this shake all the time or just when turning the wheel in a certain direction?

Sounds to me like your front rotors are warped.
