MAF sensor or AMF sensor

I found this in my surfing around and was wondering if the SVX is in this same
catorgory or is there a difference in AMF and MAF
Yes the AFM has a self cleaning circuit.

As the AFM is a hot wire type in normal operation it has a constant 5volts running through a resistance wire, air passing this wire cools it and changes the resistance, hence changing the output voltage. The ECU moniters this output voltage and establishes the amount of air entering the engine from this value.
When you turn the key off, you may here a relay shut down after about 5-8seconds later. In this time the ECU has supplied a higher voltage (often 12v) to the AFM resistance wire which will make it glow red hot momentarily and clean off built up deposits. Self cleaning.
Clever aye!

Our cars have MAF sensors. They don't self-clean.
