Some jerk smashed my fiancee's windshield

We left her car at a friend's house in a nice part of town on New Year's Eve and went to pick it up today. There was a beer bottle and a large rock near the car, looks like they threw one or both of those items at the windshield and smashed it. No entry to the car was gained, a bag of stuff that was in the back seat and her head unit were still there. People are jerks.

She doesn't have a package policy, so her glass deductible is much higher than the cost of a new windshield on her POS (1991 Dodge Omni).

Here is a horrible comment: Better her than me
$200 for her windshield vs like $2000 for mine.

At least you said it and not me. Sorry to hear about the trouble. I had someone do that to my Justy. I just got a new window for $160 in stead of going through insurance.

Man sorry to hear that, it just ruins all the fun you had on New Year's.

Yes. Yes she is. (Assuming you're talking about my fiancee and not the Omni)

I don't want to say at least her windshield does not cost 900 USD so the only thing I can think of to ask was if she was cute.

Cool.

Our windshields go for about $1,000. - if they quote you $2,000 - I would go somewhere else.

It isn't that bad now. It is around .82 now I think. They are still expensive no mater where you get one.

It IS that bad. I order all my parts from the US now. When looking for a windshield for my dad's SVX they wanted $2400 for a USED one!!!

To calculate Winnipeg Subaru dealer cost: take price from subaruparts.com and multiply by 3 or 4. Higher for STi parts.

I went to my Outback, for the usual "before dawn' departure to work, and I found a piece of railroad ballast had creamed the windshield!! "after the cops left, I found where another piece of railroad ballast had hit my front fender where the gray, red, and gold stripe met! The car was out of commission for over a week, and was one of 10 that were hit that night! the whole neighborhood was crawling with cops and notebooks, but I was the one that woke them up! I have crushed no less than 15 omni-Horizons,with good shields, cause I needed a place to park real cars! I'll give ya $75. for it (if it has a 2.5!!)
Jerry
