Rattle at idle to 2000 rpm

Hey everybody,
I just started hearing a rattle this evening from under my hood, possibly exhaust. It is worse when it's cold, after warmup it's still their but quiets at around 2000 rpm's. Any ideas on the culprit?

Steve

The possibilities are endless. Is there any audible evidence of an exhaust leak to go with it?

My exhaust doesn't sound any different to me, I'll check it out more in the morning. Hopefully it's just a heat shield or something along those lines.

Yeah hopefully just a loose bolt.

Hope it isn't one of your neighbors caught under there Or at least hope it isn't one of the ones you liked.

Sounds like a heatshield. Get the car up on a ramp or sturdy stands so you can get under the car and listen for the rattle.

Your heat shield has a cracked bracket. I get mine welded ever spring the Salt in Conn. is a killer on it. seems to crack at the thines point near the bolt up front under the drivers foot. I get a buzz at exactly 2,200 RPM and it goes away by 2,800.
