I did it! It is easy as everyone said!!
Thanks everyone tht helpe3d me become a skilled code man!
It is as easy as predicted, maybe a little easier even. Not sure yet because I got up to 1,963 short blinks and still going. The wife is sitting in for me, continuing the counting so we don't miss anything. I am going to need a bigger list of the code troubles because my list apparently is incomplete. Best I get back to the counting because she doesn't have the gift of patience that I have. Thanks again and as this progresses I will keep you all up to date!! Back to counting the code thingie, (hope my battery holds out-keep fingers crossed) Keith |

Not to make you feel that what you are doing is useless, but one thing that works out good is to clear all of the codes and then drive it until you get a CEL. Then check the codes becasue the problem may have been fixed in the past and the codes may not have been cleared. Just a thought anyway.

Thanks, Earl!!

When I plugged in the “blue wire” there were no codes. I made a quick change with a MAF and started it up. Lots of smoke for a few seconds and then leveled off and ran like a dream. Took it out for a test drive and going down the road, it never ran better, I was praising the Lord. As I was praising the Lord, it started again, the rough running. No check engine lite so I hit the freeway and drove a bit with it running rough. Still no check engine lite. Bummer! Limped back home and a quick test naturally showed no codes. I assume the check engine lite has to come on for ther to be codes. Do you suppose by driving it a couple of days running rough the computer now thinks that is the way it is supposed to run and no problem? I will take it out tomorrow and try to get a check engine lite so I can have a code. Take care, Keith |
