Racing Concepts Is Back!

I read somewhere on this site that racing concepts is out and they arn't doing any new business. They are wrong.

There was an auction on ebay for a brake set from Raceconcepts.net $350 or so will get you a sweet package...

- 2 front and 2 rear rotors, cross dimpled, and slotted

- Axxis brake pads front and rear

-SS braided brake lines...

Someone is spreading around bad rumors about RACING CONCEPTS.net and they are wrong and we have been betrayed about this great deal... ART Rotors are good but $600 and you just get rotors and pads... Here is all the info about RACINGCONCEPTS.net

Raceconcepts Incorporated has been in business since 1998 as a Manufacturer and Wholesaler of sports rotors; cross-drilled/slotted, dimple/slotted, slotted only, and cross-drilled only. We also supply hi-performance brake pads and stainless steel braided brake lines. WE SPECIALIZE IN CONVERSION BRAKE KITS, ASK ABOUT IT! Will you offer different combinations of the machining, if requested? For instance, if I just wanted the rotors slotted and not dimple drilled, would you do that, and for the same price?

I think that the first post was some informaton that they saw on ebay. I don't think he is the owner or part of the business. We need to find out some more about them.

I don't believe anyone ever said Race Concepts was out of business. I believe that Porter said Race Concepts had been sold, and that Wood Ly was no longer the owner, and that he had had a lot of trouble with the new owner over an order.

http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...threadid=18724

I also believe the thread ends with saying that Wood will be back in business soon.

Still no word on whether he is back or not.

Yes, you're right. I misinterpreted the word 'we.'

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ben, the current owner of Raceconcepts. I purchased this business from Wood in January of 2004, once the money exchanged hands, the ball was in my field. Prior to this, I had owned a home based business selling rotors and Wood machined all my rotors. I actually had no machining knowledge when I took over this business and had to deal with training myself without Wood's assistant. Wood didn't even have paperwork on his business accounts, which in turn, caused me more confusion. The first few months were overwhelming, but I'm glad Wood didn't train me. If he had, I don't think I would have learned so much. As for statements by Mr. Porter on my being a bastard for not following through on his order, I don't know if that was worth name calling. I did tell him the reason why his order was delayed. I was going through a lawsuit with the leasing company for one of the CNC machines. I was not interested in the that particular machine and wanted to return it. The leasing agent stated that the only conditions we had was to pay $40,000.00 for it, just so that he'll accept the return. This caused a legal battle between me and the leasing company. This had nothing to do with Wood or my being against Wood. Mr. Porter either misunderstood the whole ordeal or stretched the truth to the nether regions. I do apologize for that first bad impression, not meaningful at all, please understand that it was also rough for me. As for current news, we relocated from a 700 sq. ft to a 2,500 sq. ft. facility to accomodate 3 CNC machines. We still offer Bradi blanks at the same offering price Wood had extended to your network before. All orders from SVX Network members will receive 1 FREE ATE Racing Blue Brake Fluid from now on. Your choice in machining designs are Cross-drilled only, Slotted only, Dimpled only, Cross-drilled and Slotted, and Dimpled and Slotted. I provided some picture samples to show you my NEW drilling design style. This is my new contact provided as follows. 714-894-3581 phone, 714-894-3508 fax, sales@raceconcepts.net

Welcome aboard, Ben. I appreciate your making the effort to explain things. Sorry things got off on the wrong foot.

I understand your new business got a little rocky start. Wood had made a lot of people satisfied around here, and Porter carrys quite a bit of weight on this network. His strong words influenced several people.

Just a thought- It might be helpful if you tried to clear the air with Porter.

Good luck with your new business.

Sounds good to me. Now I must drive really hard to wear out/warp my current rotors so I can upgrade

Ben, thanks for the post.

Could you provide some detail on the deal outlined in the first post on this thread? Is it an offer you currently have running? What is the exact price? (The author of the post says 'around $350.')

Ben - welcome to the site. I have several sets of Race Concepts rotors - when Wood had it, and have been very satisfied. I am glad to hear that the business is off and running now and you can give us good service now. Please post the prices as well as any packages that you sell. Thanks for your post and again - welcome.

Well, I just ordered the front/rear rotors, stainless steel lines and brake fluid (I did not get the brake pads due to I heard that Axxis dusts allot). So I will ge with Green Stuff most likely for those.
Price was $290 shipped.
We'll see what they are like.
