In the haste to get the XT up there, I forgot to grab the camcorder on sunday! WAAAAHHHHAAA!!

I HAD to try the Wonder Wedge, but after the first pass was wishing for one of the Legacys. I think part of the problem was the reluctance to get out of the throttle and let the tires and asphalt get aquainted, Ben TOLD me it would bind too much if I locked it in 4wd ( and he was RIGHT), and in 2wd it just lit the tires and started wheel hopping as soon as the turbo kicked in. The car is more suited to a road course than autocross. I might try drags once, or more if I like it! The engine and trans did what they were supposed to, but I had never Xed a stick, and did some dumb stuff that cost a lot of time.

all in all, The thing ran well for a $460. racer, and I learned a lot, and met some fine people, and got some good film, and got to see some fast subies, and even saw the worlds first subi TATTOO!

Did anyone get any pics of the rust and mouse houses blowing off the XT?

Jerry
Jerry,
Sorry we didn't make it back over on Sunday. The wife and kids wanted to get back home
I'll be back up in a week to pick up my car - can you drop the tape off with Tom?
Thanks.

Ben did pretty good. Not to far behind the fastest driver in that orange D Prepared Porsche 914 that ran in every heat.

I've had better days...
I only hit one cone and did get a time on my second run when I went into the grass

Honestly I don't think Jerry did that! No offense Jerry but his runs were about the same for the last few (first one sucked) but from my corner nothing was really different on that run to make up 10 seconds on street tires! They had some timing issues. If ya did do it congrats though. Maybe he gave the timer a beer.

Couple of notes:

1. There are videos taken from a Miata on Saturday and Sunday available via a link on the Cumberland site. Not the best quality - I don't think they've got very good vibration isolation on their camera.

2. As a comparison between the courses set up each day, Mr. Moran's (aka "smooth" driver) best time on Sunday was .589 seconds slower than his best time on Saturday.

Still - great work Jerry!!!

Ben,

Using Mr. Moran's Sat/Sun best times as a way to "normalize" the courses, I get 49.607(Bill Stock) vs 48.330 (Racer).....can't wait for September (and really regret not sticking around on Sunday!!!)

WELLL!! I have a confession .. The time is wrong! The time attributed to the rusty subi with bad tires was really set by a black 944 porsche with #7 on the door! I WILL turn in the 40's next time out!!!
BEN, What were those tires you told me to find??
As I was leaving work today, I saw a 91 XT6 being hauled to the crusher!! It had been man handled and abused, and was packed with junk, but I followed it to the jaws of the crusher and struck a deal for ALL the stuff I could grab in an hour for $20.

The air ride was intact, so I put it into the outback, along with the power steering pump and motor, the window lift mech I needed to fix mine and the air lines and check valves for the air bags. I was going back for the computer under the pass. seat, but the NIMROD on the fork truck had snatched it away and put it in the PRESS!!! It was only 6" high when I turned around! WAAAHHHHH!!!

Yea, Bill, I will see to it that you get the tape. If I know when you are going to be here, I will try to meet you, or you and Tom can come down to the farm and see why I like to spend time there!

Jerry, AKA subi-crosser
