Also Waiting

Just like to keep this warning up front in case he trys to sell to anyone else. He sent one message about 3 weeks ago and that has been all. Still no parts or money.

ugh

well at least you guys have heard back from him. I haven't heard anything since I got this:

Quote:
Wow...i'm really sorry to hear about your situation, too. I would like to resolve this ASAP. Please give me a week or two to get this all together. What visor was it?
on 4/22

I assume he probably isn't happy with me because I went through Paypal's buyer protection process and had them try to get my money back. Of course I didn't get even half of the $461 back but I'm guessing that I pissed him off by doing that. But hey, what else was I supposed to do after not getting any responses for over three weeks? Sheesh, that's more than a week's pay for me so I kinda need that money.

Still frustrated, and broke
Jay

Don't give up. That is what all of these @#$%@ guys want you to do. They hope to wear you down after all of the weeks of excuses and other BS. You are doing the right thing. Good luck.

Right

I agree. I won't give up even if I have to report it as internet fraud through the appropriate channels.

I would hope that he would not be permitted to sell anything else on here until he has solved the outstanding problems with current members.

Thanks

good samaritan

last time I found that he was selling things I emailed the high bidder of every one of his auctions and told them what he did to me.
I don't want anyone else to go through this $h!t.

Do IT

Lets both do it this time. Even if some bid it will cost him money because some will not bid and it will keep the price down.

Have you contacted Ebay to tell them he is back to his old tricks? I think that would be a good thing to do. They may cancell his auctions.

Ebay

I actually can not complain with ebay, as I only contacted Joseph through the auctions. I did not buy the parts through ebay's auctions.

****, wish I'd seen this earlier.... did anyone get the parts they ordered from him in this thread? I've tried contacting him twice now, threatened legal action the second time (just sent out a minute ago, so of course no response yet).

Trust me folks, if we threaten him with enough legal recourse, he will crack. I had this happen with a car I was selling on Ebay, and thats what it took to finally get a response from the high bidder. He wasn't sending payment, so I sent him 3 or 4 emails. Finally I just went ahead and filed a complaint with eBay and suddenly got a response from him, apologizing and saying he had no money for the car (not surprising, that was one of four he had won on eBay, and mine was one of the three he decided he "didn't have the money for" despite being cheaper than the one he did). He's been banned, I believe. Mail fraud is a serious offense, and even if that wouldn't apply here, a type of fraud is being commited, and therefore can be used against him legally.

I just hate to see this happen yet again on this board, as I know its not the first time it has. I wish there was some way we could prevent it, but apparently even buying from a fairly active member (the only reason I did this time, as most of the time the seller has only a couple of posts) isn't always safe. But I suppose thats merely the risk we run on the internet...

Just checked eBay, he's not selling anything right now, but I sent a message to a guy he sold his seats to just under a month ago, warning him to keep in touch with this guy until he delivers, or complain to eBay if he doesn't.

Now, we all sent him money by mail, right? That means we all have his home address, perhaps we should talk to him in person. Just so there's no misunderstanding, I'm not saying we do anything violent, just talk to him (and/or his parents if he's really only 18) and either get our parts or our money. He's in NY (supposedly, could probably be verified with his ISP under these circumstances), so those of in the tri-state aren't too far from him, we could make it an NY/NJ/PA/CT/etc meet
