Hi All,
I posted in the SoCal regional, looking for a mechanic or someone that could check a potential SVX for me. Got no response last i checked  Anyway, found an Independent Soobie shop, so am having the owner make an appt....if all goes well, I'll fly to SoCal to pick up a Teal 1996 with 105K miles and drive it back (or maybe transport it if I can find some company not charging $700 !!). will be my first SVX, but not my first Soobie. Of course my only hesitation is the cost of maintenance and potential tranny issues. <update> bummer, the Soob mechanic said quite a bit of work was needed....timing belt, seals, water pump, bad brakes, 2 tires, possibly rack/pinion (was so messay down there he would have had to have the area cleaned so he could see the leaks), noisy p/s pump, tranny fluid never changed, etc...some melted pieces from SoCal sun in interior.
