Yup 4500k so they are straight white. I don't have any rainbow with them either. The only thing I am worried about is how hot they will run and if the plastic housings can handle it. Easily the best headlights I have eve run. As far as the base for the bulb they didn't look retro fitted to me.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

nice thread good info more diff pictures!!

when I'm going to get...I personally think 35w is enough for me and more than enough of our regular usage. And it's saving energy(still way brighter than stock) and running much cooler than stock(prevent the plastic headlight becoming yellow quicker) and less burden on our weak alternators and also possibly a bit better or more stabil gas mileage (such as 0.01 or 0.05 or even 0.1 or higher ). 55w is probably too bright and hotter and uses more energy...and we're not using for offroad purpose and may create unnecessary pullovers from the cops. just my $0.02

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

On my two sets of HID conversions, the set with the rainbow effect has bulbs that are off center in the bases, I wonder if that has anything to do with the effect?

Maybe they are ignoring you. They called me today to tell me it would take an extra day to ship mine, and asked if I wanted to downgrade shipping to ground, at which point I explained I don't think that is possible due to my location, at which point he had a eureka moment.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I finally got an email today apologizing for the inconvenience and another email with a printable ups shipping slip to send the 9006's back.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

Any opinions on the 4500 55W lamps for the fogs?

I think the fogs are probably a little too small for 55w but the 35w should be fine.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

Thanks! By too small, do you mean the length of the 55W H1 will crash the small metal shield? Also, 3k is offered, is yellow really better for fog lamps?

no, I just meant that the fogs might be too small for the amount of heat. Physically the 35w and 55w are the same size.

I like yellow for true fog lights, I ordered a set of 3k for mine but haven't installed them yet.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I bought the 9006's but they don't twist into the factor housing like the regular bulbs did. Am I missing something, did I receive the wrong set?

The ones they sent look like they'd work if I had the housing with the wire that holds the bulb in.

*** How did I order H1's and not 9006's!

I'm putting them in my M3's fogs... but I'm not sure how to best do that.

Did you order H1's or did they accidentally ship you H1s?
