My wife got an analog phone about 4 years ago. Special one year contract - $10/month w/free weekends. Seems that year never has come to an end. We asked about it a couple of times and they said, "Oh thanks, we'll fix that next month." It hasn't been 'fixed' yet, and we've quit talking about it. Our bill is rarely over $12, including out-of-state calls, etc. The phone is held together with rubberbands and duct tape. There is no way we're going to upgrade.

mine was $11/month with free nights & weekends. now its $30 the DSL discount is good, though you could probably just get a new analog phone on ebay - i did once.

I'm in a 2 year contract with Verizon, and my phone doesnt even work in my town (Slippery Rock). The area is on their coverage map, however if I want to make a call, I have to climb up on this cement retaining wall in front of my building. Noone with verizon can get service in the town though. Stupid Jerks.

Verizon Wireless is on my bad list right now too. They almost prevented us from getting approved to buy a house because of a screw up with my wife's old bill from a almost a year ago (on a phone she had to cancel because it, and it's replacement, didn't work ). As it was, their screw up is the reason we are just buying a house now, rather than in June when the issue came up.

Ironically, I work for a wireless company (not Verizon though ). I won't mention the name but I'm sure you've all heard of getting an mlife...

I deal with HR communications in print and web formats, kinda one of those jobs that is hard to explain and pin down to any one title.

Alright, alright...would everyone please stop bashing Verizon. Poor Alan is going to develope a complex. He's just a man trying to earn a living and happens to work for a company many of you dislike and have problems with. His department does not even deal with the problems you might have.

In my business, however, I deal directly with the dedicated network circuit's like T's, DS' and OC's on a daily basis. If anyone has a right to bad mouth them it's me but I'm not gonna.

doesn't bother me....Verizon Wireless is like a completely separate company from Verizon. our carrier dept. has a 99.x% efficiency rating, although we keep losing people to retirement and other offices. i work with AT&T a lot, and its amazes me how they are still in business with the way they operate, not that Verizon is perfect or anything

They were so bad they drove me to verizon!!!!

I am a customer of both Verizon Wireless and ATT. I have worked for neither.

I have ATT e-mail and think it is just OK.

We have Verizon cell phones. My Motorola phone is OK , Rosie is on her third Motorla phone. I think that they have absolutely No Service. This may just apply to my area. When our contract is up I will try someone else. I will say that Verizon seems to have best reception in my area (mid-Atlantic states).
