I could live with that. Unfortunately anything between 10-19 mph over the limit is FOUR points. Yep. If you do 11 over, its 4 points off your license.

I hate WI.

In Kentucky:

10 or less, 0 points
11-15 on limited access hwy 3
15 or less on non-limited access 3
15 over in a Commercial Motor Vehicle 3
16-25 over on any road or hwy 6
26 over on any road or hwy: Hearing, possible suspension
Attempt to allude: Hearing, possible suspension or probation

12 points in two years = suspension

A driver may go to traffic school and points will not be assessed. You may attend traffic school once per year to erase points.

This information came from my hand outs at my recent State Traffic School class. I have 11 months before I can get another ticket and go to traffic school to have the points erased. If I receive a ticket within the year, I gotta take the points, unless I can contest and win. Interestingly, I was goint to class for 65 in a 55 (no points), so, I kinda wasted my visit. The policeman was kind enough to reduce the ticket from 74 in a 55 . He would've probably let me off if I'd have said, "officer, I wasn't paying attention. I was just driving along with that gold Taurus in front of me." Which I was, and he knew he had clocked him, and I just happened to be following. The gold taurus got lucky that day and was allowed to keep going. I too, was lucky, in a way. I was setting up to pass that darned Taurus. If the trooper had waited about 5 more seconds before coming down that road, he'd've met me at near 100, as I blew that Taurus off the road. So, I figured, what the heck, I did the crime, I pay the fine and all's well with the world. Cost me 111.50 in "court costs" (even though I didn't go to court), and 30 bucks for the class, plus 4 hours on a Saturday morning.

The moral, "ya pays yer money, and ya takes yer chances."

I'll stand with my 90% of the time your violations go unpunished, the 10% of the time you get caught, take it like a man. I don't appologize for all police officers. I realize there are many different personalities in this world. Some get a kick out of the power, and that's a shame. But they can't cite you until you do something WRONG. I know many officers from smaller towns that truly do have nothing else to do. So what?! They are doing something more constructive then sleeping in thier car. It seems to me reading the papers and watching the news, the medical profession has alot more problems then the law enforcement one lately. We are all humans after all, therefore less then perfect. Life isn't always fair. Being in this line of work it's hard not to become cynical and generally intolerant of people, all people, after the things I have done and seen. Ihave my biggest disdain with what has happened to our justice system, ie the courts and especially lawyers. Not all are bad, (There is that point again) but enough are to sicken a rational man. I get tired of seeing limp wristed justice in this country. Oh well. If you are truly unsatisfied with the current driver's privledge laws in the US, you can always move. In El Salvador, DUI is a capital crime. No second offenses there. You just have to put it all in perspective.

take it like a man.. it's the only way to do it. i respect the officers around that are actually doing their jobs. hey it takes balls to be a walking target knowing that most people out there don't like you.

because of that, i've gotten off quite a few tickets where i clearly violated the law. speeding, running red light (after stopping to make sure no cars were around of course), and running stop signs (rolling though stop signs). i took it like a man, made no excuses, was polite, and they let me off. but then again, i have too much pride to beg or whine my way out of it. although once i did try to bribe a alabama cop. that did not go too well...if i only had an extra hundred bucks.......

hmm..i just remembered, i don't know if those police patches that i threw up near the back window in plain view helped. i've done some work for a some police stations around and i collected a few patches from various counties. patches and hats.

Donate to your local police to get some stickers. It's worked for me a bunch of times. And try not to speed if you can.

Is that kinda like wearing one of those shirts that says "SWAT" or "UNDERCOVER OFFICER"...... Kinda defeats the purpose of being Undercover dosen't it???
