OK folks here we go!

I spoke to the distributor of the Konis and have the real deal. There are some stipulations, just like life.

1) You have to buy ALL four struts for $576.80. NO SPLIT sets, take 'em all or don't order. Shipping is NOT included and cost will be determined by the distributor.

2) The distributor cannot affer the 10% discount he previously offered due to Koni mandated rules, he cannot sell them for a greater tham 30% discount from list (see $ figure above).

3) He can offer us a club rebate however! This rebate will be 10% for those paying with cash, check or money order and 8% for those paying by credit card. I'm not sure yet how this will be handled, it may be a check to me and I'll disburse funds accordingly. I really don't want to do it that way, but he may be forced to handle it that way.

4) Deadline for this rebate package and the SPECIAL Koni metal bottle opener key chain is Friday 3/15 at 12:00 noon. He has ordered 50 sets. This means struts will be available after this offer is over, but the rebate does not apply.

5) Orders go to the distributor and will ship from his location to your mailing address - PO Boxes are not acceptable!

6) Struts will be arrivibg 3/14 ands will ship as soon as possible following the receipt of your payment to the distributor.

*** The price WILL increase effective 3/15 at 12:01 pm. I do not know what the increase will be.

I have updated the spreadsheet in my locker to show those of you whose info I have. I'll PM you all the distributor mailing info shortly.

I have worked long and hard to put this together (multiple long distance calls during business hours and the many posts you've seen here). Please lets make this work and take advantage of the offer. PLEASE don't ask me about exceptions to the above rules. The distributor was very specific about what he would do for us to get us the rebate and I don't want to screw this up. Feel free to ask me questions via PM here, NOT e-mail.

Thanks,
Todd Hipsky

All right

I have sent an e-mail to everyone whose profile allows it and have also sent a private mail to everyone here as well. I have the installation instructions in my locker. THESE ARE NOT A STRAIGHT BOLT-ON REPLACEMENT, THEY DO REQUIRE CUTTING AND MOUNTING!!

Please send me the requested details via private mail here on the site, DO NOT RESPOND VIA E-MAIL!!!

I'll get the shipping costs for you from there.

I don't intend to be anyones mother here (don't forget your lunch money!!) and if I do not hear from you prior to the deadline, you're out of luck! I've given you all the info and after the orders have been placed will handle the rebates. I've done a lot of work here for you all and I want it to go smoothly.

If you have questions, let me know.

Todd

The price is a wee bit higher than the $530 or so quoted earlier, but it's good enough for gub'ment work! It will put off some other things I wanted to have done, but I'm gonna go ahead and do it. Now I have to check and see how much installaion will cost. Anyhoo, I'm still in.

Sent you a PM with pricing details

Hopefully it clears up most of your questions (except the customer pick-up one)

How much would they cost to install?

The cost of the struts themselves are around 600 after shipping I am guessing,

But, I still havent heard from anyone , the cost of installation
other than the 1,000 dollars.

I am interested, but 1,600 is too rich for me. Anyone else have
already figured out the cost of installing four koni struts on the
SVX.

I can feel this opportunity slipping away .... respond!

Hopefully
wazawazat meant Friday midnight, when he set the deadline

I put mine in myself with a lot of help from John (SVX_commuter). The only cost was a full day and the cost of new mounts and rubber seats all the way around. (my rear mounts were all rusted out and I upgraded the fronts to the later version. The top rubber seats in the rear have a metal ring imbedded in them that also was all rusted out.) Cost for parts - about 500 or 600 I don't really remember but go to subaruparts.com for the prices.

To the few of you who ordered

the Koni struts, they should be shipping today from the distributor. I'll be working with the distributor in the next week or so an the rebate and getting you all a chunk of money back.

You mean on top of the cost of the struts you had to pay another $500.00 for the rubber seats?!? Sounds rich... and steep.

No, no, no.

The 500 was for strut mounts AND rubber seats. Go to Subaruparts.com and you can price it all out. I just checked my order - the mounts ran about 300, the seats about 150.

Very interested in how much people pay to put these in. Especially those who have a shop do it. I'm not confident enough to put koni struts in 200 dollar subaru manual or not

My Koni's arrived yesterday, so thanks again for arranging this group buy. I noticed there was an oil stain in the box, but there was no oil that I could see leaking from any of the struts. This is my first time ever ordering struts for a car, so this may be a normal thing, I'm not sure. Also, there was only one adjustment knob included. Again, that may be normal. In any event, they look good and I'll be happy to get them installed, so thanks again!!
