Welcome Craig! There are a few members in your area. I attended a small meet there last April. I'm looking into organising a meet in Winnipeg sometime this year.

Hello from Milan everybody,
i recently (spetember) had the chance of finding a 1993 Bordeaux SVX on the internet, and when i went to check and see it, i fell in love with it immediately.
It costed little to buy, a little more to fix, and everyday's a new challenge.
But thanks to you all, and especially Svxeno through whose post i saved hours (after spending hours in trying figuring it out all by myself).
I am happy i found such a community, for it's uncommon to see so many willing to help (especially for someone who is more on the side of asking than on the side of answering ).

Hello

Hello,

I just found this site today and have registered and posted. I live in Salt Lake and am looking for a used car. One of the lots I looked at today has a '96 SVX (77,000 miles). I had forgotten about these cars and after I started it up, took a good look at it and remembered these have all wheel drive I got pretty exited about getting one. Thats why I'm looking at this site and reading what everyone has to say. I really have to get one now. If anyone has some good general info/advice/cautions about these cars I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Russ.

Russ,
Welcome. You will find many friends at this site - I have made "life-long" friends and expect to make even more. Lots of good info here as well. If you have a problem with a SVX, then someone here has had that problem and is willing to share a solution. And the "How-to-Do's" are neat too if you are so inclined. USE THE SEARCH feature, and you will be amazed. And attend some "meets" and meet fellow SVX'ers.

Lastly, take a serious look at the '96 SVX you mentioned. There aren't many low-mileage ones left!!

Harry

Hi guys.
Doing the checking in thing.
Just scored a 92 4WS with 170 kms on the clock - that's abt 100k miles.
Burgundy red. Touring pack.
My previous drive was a 91 SC 400. This is nicer.
All I have to do is unscramble the 4WS system; seems to have a sensor failure somewhere around the steering wheel.

The numbers are:
VIN; CXD 002909
MODEL; CXDA25E
OPTION; DSC
TRIM; 220, COLOR; 265
ENGINE; EG33DDX1DE
TRANS; TZ102YL1AA

Anyone care to translate?

4WS is cool. Sounds dangerous driving it broken though, hope you sort it out.

Funny. 4WS always SOUNDS great, but in practice, I always hear nothing but bad things about it from people who own a car that is so equipped. Take the Nissan 240SX, for example. First mod people do is usually disabling the Super HICAS 4WS system.

I am not too fussed by the lack of 4WS, and could likely live without it (even with the red dash warning light telling me it is in fail-safe)....but seeing as it has it I guess the realistic thing is to try and get it working...THEN disable it if it really is a pain in the butt.
Have not yet checked the codes to isolate the fault.
Would like to hear from anyone who knows where those steering column sensors are located.
