i don't like country and jazz, either, but i can respect those types of music because musicians actually play the instruments and write original compositions.
most rap "artists" (i use that term loosely) steal samples (or use a rhythm machine), TALK (no vocal ability) in ryhmes, and use the same cliches over and over (you know what i'm sayin'?). its not music - its poetry set to a beat, with samples thrown in. i don't hate all rap, just 99% of it.

the way a rap artist 'composes' is through the lyrics, the better the lyricist, the better the message , the better the rapper plain and simple...if you try to make a 5 minute rap song, that actually makes sense and isnt foolish, its actually really hard. so if you think there is no talent involved i think you are wrong.

MA Audio does. Just in case, it's at the bottom of the page for their MAW class of subs. Never heard these, so please don't think I'm recommending, just trying to fill your request

<yo, start da beat>
mostly the lyrics are all slang and crap
MC's can't do a proper English rap
check out my gold teeth and backwards cap
when i get tired of rapping i take a nap
i drive a bling-bling SVX with a smokin' transmission
that m*#&^$*@r gets hotter than nuclear fission
i could drive Bentleys but i chose a Subaru
headlight haze that would scare Shaggy and Scooby-Doo

that was easy - give me my million$.

here's a song....try to focus on the MESSAGE behind it instead of the swears and slang.

Look here Miss Thang
hate to salt your game
but yous a money hungry woman
and you need to change.

In tha locker room
all the homies do is laugh.
High five's cuz anotha nigga
played your ass.

It was said you were sleeezy
even easy
sleepin around for what
you need

See it's your thang
and you can shake it how you wanna.
Give it up free
or make your money on the corner.

But don't be bad and play the game
get mad and change.
Then you wonda why these mutha****as
call you names.

Still lookin' for a way out
and that's OK
I can see you wanna stray
there's a way out.

Keep your mind on your money,
enroll in school.
And as the years pass by
you can show them fools.

But you ain't tryin' to hear me
cuz your stuck,
you're headin' for the bathroom
'bout to get tossed up.

Still lookin' for a rich man
you dug a ditch,
got your legs up
tryin' to get rich.

I love you like a sista
but you need to switch
and that's why they called
U *****, I betcha.

Chorus

Verse Two: 2Pac

You leave your kids with your mama
cuz your headin' for the club
in a skin tight miniskirt
lookin' for some love.

Got them legs wide open
while you're sittin' at the bar
Talkin' to some nigga
'bout his car.

I guess he said he
had a Lexxxus, what's next?
You headin' to his car for some sex

I pass by
can't hold back tears inside
cuz, lord knows
for years I tried.

And all the other people
on my block hate your guts
Then you wonda why they stare
and call you slut.

It's like your mind don't understand
you don't have to kill your
dreams ploten'
schemes on a man

Keep your head up, legs closed, eyes open
either a nigga wear a rubber or he die smokin'
I'm hearin' rumors so you need to switch
and niggas wouldn't call you *****, I betcha.

Chorus

Verse Three: 2Pac

I guess times gettin' hard
even harder for you
cuz, hey now, got a baby
on the way now

More money from the county
and thanks to the welfare
you're about to
get your hair done.

Got a dinner date
can't be late
trick or treat, sweet thang
got anotha trick to meet.

The way he did it
it was smooth
plottin' while he gamin' you
So baby, peep tha rules.

I shoulda seen it in the first case
the worst case
I shoulda never called you back
in the first place.

I remember back in high school
baby you was fast
straight sex
and barely move your ass.

But now things change
cuz you don't look the same
let the ghetto get the best of you
baby, that's a shame

Caught HIV and now you 'bout to be deceased
and finally be in peace.

So where your niggas at now
cuz everybody left
they stepped
and left you on your own

See I loved you like a sista
but you died to quick
And that's why we called U *****, I betcha.

Chorus

Outro: 2Pac

Dear Ms. Deloris Tucker
keep stressen me
****in' with a mutha****en mind
I figured you wanted to know
you know
why we call them hos *****es
and maybe this might help you understand
it ain't personal
strictly business baby
strictly business

So If you wonder why we call U *****
You wonder why we call U *****
If you wonder why we call U *****
You wonder why we call U *****

he's explaining why he calls women *****es, not all women, just the prostituting ho's.

the whole meaning behind the song is explaining, that the women who go out and have sex w/ guys for things they can just work for, and prostitute and be sluts, those are the *****es, when they call someone a ***** they call them that for that reason. atleast in his time.

was a song REALLY needed to explain that to people, or was it just an excuse to use the word b***** in a song a bunch of times?

Yes but whats popular now, all sounds the same, I mean it's not bad, it just all sounds the same. I don't own any CD from a group that didn't exist before 95, they all got generic after Nirvana came through. Its all the same stuff over again. Or maybe I really am getting old, 3 weeks ago I had never herd the term Whip, as refering to one's car.

I just wanted to state that rap is not music i think Alan has that covered though.
I like many kinda of music.. oldies, rock, techno,.....
Not jazz, country, and definatly not rap.

Are we ever on topic?

We are definitely off topic. I asked about the Subaru Subwoofer and this is the result.

However, since we digressed. I personally do not care what other people listen to as long as they do not intrude on my space. Folks that like to blast their stereos are a short lived nuisance since I do not live in an appartment and I drive away from their cars.

IMHO a true measure of the quality of music is its longevity. I personally love Jazz and am always amazed how Jazz performed more than 50 years ago is still enjoyed by many. Few types of music have withstood the test of time and the jury is still out on most of the stuff being created today.

Personal preference, cannot be argued. I like ??? You like ??? I personally like peanut butter on green peppers. Some would call it "yucky." I don't require others to like it for ME to like it. Live and let live. I find it hard to believe that anyone would call the SVX "ugly." But some have. My personal preference is to be obsessed by it. It is my "inalienable right" to do so. Certain music (in its many guises) "speaks to" certain people. Some can listen for hours to simple percussion. Some could relax to the strange tones of the Theremin (but is it REALLY music?). I enjoy "Deep Forest" though I have no idea what they're singing. It "feeds" what needs to be fed in one's spirit. Let whomever enjoy whatever speaks to and feeds their individual spirits. Just my opinion.
