Totally agree.

The only ban I would really want to see in the gay community is the use of the word "partner". It confuses me everytime, and I always naturally assume a financial partner. Unless the person is just flat out sparkling in the dark obvious, I'll mistake it everytime.

I wish they would just say my boyfriend or girlfriend, significant other, lover, etc. Even "Life Partner" is fine. But just partner? Rant, rant! I'm on a soapbox right now over that due to my saying "So, are you the brains or the money of the partnership?" a couple of days back. That was embarrassing after she clarified. And she was a little condescending about it when explaining. (It was her fault!!) Rant....

I think the word "gay" as it pertains to homosexuals, faggots, lesbians or queers should be banned. That is a total misuse of a word that has a very positive meaning.
