Hey, don't worry about me. I could care less what they think because it is their own opinion. No reason to go sending Mike into the fire as well. Thanks for the support though

Tom

Lightbulb 91 octane?

A couple of those stage 3s are headed west. Any chance of tuning and testing on 91 octane? Then 93 could be considered insurance for the others.

Shocking Results

Thanks for posting your numbers for us. Your results are contrary to a lot I have heard about FI in these engines. Spoke with a company that used these engines in dune buggy racing. They ran race fuel but could not get any higher than 10 psi on race fuel and engine management. Did you lower the CR? Are you intercooling? Or are you doing this solely by dumping fuel? I can't argue with your result though. Great Job!

Maybe that company was using stock injectors... Don't forget Mike is using very large injectors for this kit so his movement of fuel and timing curves are not so limited

Tom
They actually welded a completely different injection system in place of the old one, so they should have had pleanty of fuel.

Got a call from Mike. Good results, but I'll let him tell you. I dont think he's going to the track though. I believe he mentioned his transfer clutches acting up.

Significant Technical Input
Yep, I'm going to pop in some new transfer clutches before I go to the track.

I dyno'd the car today and we're right around where we should be. I made 4 pulls, each with a different timing table, and monitored load and timing. I had them print out a sheet with all 4 of todays runs along with 4 of the stage 2v4 development runs. Todays 4 runs on the same sheet along with the load and timing information i monitored while making the runs allows me to make the next batch of software. The stage 2v4 runs on the same sheet are to make it easy for you to see the torque and power gains.

Right now we are putting out 270 wheel hp which works out to 385 crank hp. From the plots I can tell that with the final software we will be putting down at least 290 wheel hp which works out to 415 crank hp. I may be able to get a bit more out of it but I can definitely get that. On todays plots you can see the various places where I didn't have enough ignition timing in each of the tables. The timing table from the green plot was pretty good through 4400 rpms. The timing on the pink plot is pretty good from 5600 rpms to 6400 rpms. It could actually probably use another couple degrees there too. So now i take the good from the green and the good from the pink and add a bunch more to the rows for 4800 and 5200 rpms.

Drawing a best fit line on either the green or pink plots through 4800 rpms tells me where I can expect to end up at the higher rpms. 290 wheel horse power/415crank hp looks to be sinch.

LAN,

What was your true peak torque at the wheels? The scale seems to be way off...
