oops, forgot to check in

checking in. this site is really awesome much like the cars.

an additional thanks to all the guys(and possibly girls) on this board that so warmingly welcomed me. I don't have an SVX yet but I will soon. my aim here is to get experienced advice on things about this car and also to use my mechanical knowledge to help those in need of answers.

thanks again!

New owner

Okay you forced me to post... New owner of a 96 SVX LSI Red 99K mint... waited 10 years to find this car!! I am happy now... eveything I dreamed of and more... any suggestions as to what brand is an excellent set of tires?? I had a 96 Legacy LSI and at one time I installed non H rated on her and yuk.. a sloppy ride.. Looking for the best tire.. good sidewalls to help grip the turns and as always... cut some noise... any thoughts???

ahhh, you see.. I don't have excel, so i used a business card as a "ruler" of sorts.. the length of the business card was equal to that of 20 lines of text/member names.. i think the list worked out to be 14 business card lengths + 12... but as it seems i must've skipped one someplace... oh well

Just Checking

If you subtract the number of members from the number of SVXs, and assume that most members have active SVXs, then there may be nearly 20,000 extinct SVX trannies lying around in the world.

If any of you have a two toner, such as burgundy/black, try fitting a black bonnet - looks much more co-ordinated and slightly more sinister.

Will post a picture later.

Hey! Hey!! Hey!!!

Geeez! That's what I decided to do with my '92 Claret. Now everybody'll be doin' it! I think it'll be a good look. At first I didn't like the two tone look but now I've come to love it, looks wise. However, the black roof and large glass area do make for a car that gets mighty toasty sitting in the sun. I got this car from some folks who bought it in Illinois and then retired to Ca.'s Palm desert. The inside of the car's a furnace after 15-20 min in 80+ degree weather so I can only imagine how hot it got in the 100+ summer temps. As a result of the the heat (I think) the clear coat on the hood is pretty ugly so I deided to go with a black hood. Not terribly original...got the idea from Burgundy Beast's carbon fiber hood and a desire to be a little different. I was considering the old hot rodder's trick of putting louvers in it to let heat escape...still trying to determine if that's feasible. I'm concerned about water damaging some of the expensive electronics. Anyone got any suggestions?

Messenger...

thanks for the photo of your black hooded SVX. As I suspected...a v. good looking color combination. Who's wheels? They're v. sharp. Look to be 18 in. Full dimensions please, including weight and offset.
Thanks,
WGJ

New PA member here.
Don't have an SVX yet but am on the lookout.
I need one as a daily driver because my other cars are undrivable in bad weather (71 road runner, 71 Demon)
Though I may drive the car in snow and bad weather it will be well cared for.
