I see your point! I just don't understant that mentality! I am a positive person and stay away from the negative. It is sad that there are people who are so unhappy with life.

"I would never want to be associated with the far left because it seems all they can do is bash or talk others down and never build anything up or have any constructive thoughts. They can turn something good and turn it into bad."
So it was the "far left" that started the war in Iraq? And it was the "far left" that didn't show up in New Orleans? The "far left" is responsible for all our problems? What FAR LEFT? Anybody who doesn't slavishly follow the rightist party line? So you've staked out your position so you can sit back and regret that: "It is sad that there are people who are so unhappy with life." Think maybe the Iraqi's are a little unhappy about all their dead relatives and friends? How about all our dead and wounded troops? Think their families are unhappy? You claim to have read all these pages and you STILL hold that position? And the TRILLIONS being pissed away doesn't bother you? You don't have a single problem with the way the gov't's run? Do you read a paper, watch any news? As far as you're concerned everything's just ducky? I find your sentiments simply amazing, so I'll leave you with two simple thoughts that explain why we have these discussions and why it MATTERS! All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797) A country which proposes to make use of modern war as an instrument of policy must possess a highly centralized, all-powerful executive, hence the absurdity of talking about the defense of democracy by force of arms. A democracy which makes or effectively prepares for modern scientific war must necessarily cease to be democratic. Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963) WGJ Last edited by WGJ; 06-15-2006 at 11:53 PM. |

Where Next?
The SUDAN?
WGJ If Bush Sr. had finished the job in '91 by supporting the post-Guf War uprising we instigated and then failed to support, we wouldn't be there now. And there's that minor issue of GW, Rummy, et al, LIEING! Last edited by WGJ; 06-16-2006 at 01:48 AM. |

"when Clinton had several opportunities to take Osama Bin Laden into custody when he was practically handed over to him, but chose to chase chubby interns around his desk instead, lots of people died." i guess that doesn't fit neatly on a bumper sticker.

No one died in Somalia. It's all a figment of your imagination. The republicans faked Mogadishu in a warehouse in Nebraska.
clinton had his foriegn policy blunders. But by pulling out early (pun not intended but fitting) the Somalies declared victory over the largest most powerful military in the world. Afterwards tens of thousands of Somalies that wanted the warlords removed were executed in the streets. Because clinton was gun shy, we never intervened in Rhawanda and stood by for the largest human extinction in 24 hours in the history of the planet. Go use the same quote 8 more times, WGJ. That was then, this is NOW!

NOW do you understand? Doesn't matter if you're in elementary school or a leader in gov't, if you get caught doing something wrong, pointing the finger at someone else and whining that "They did it last week" will NEVER get you off and will NEVER be allowed as an excuse for improper behavior. So why is it everytime another crooked Republican gets caught or there's another Bush blunder, you guys keep falling back on pointing the finger at Clinton and whining "But they did it,too!", as though that's some kind of get out of jail free card? Didn't work when you were a kid, ain't gonna work NOW! Grow up! WGJ Last edited by WGJ; 06-17-2006 at 01:54 PM. |

clinton had his foriegn policy blunders.-He sure did. But by pulling out early (pun not intended but fitting) the Somalies declared victory over the largest most powerful military in the world. Afterwards tens of thousands of Somalies that wanted the warlords removed were executed in the streets. Because clinton was gun shy, we never intervened in Rwanda and stood by for the largest human extinction in 24 hours in the history of the planet. - Undoubtedly accurate with the possible exception of that last line. I know Rwanda was incredibly bad but I hadn't heard the claim that there was "the largest human extinction in 24 hours in the history of the planet." Regardless, you're right, Clinton was a pussy. We should have intervened in a major way. However, if you reread the thread you'll find that the subject of "nobody died" was introduced by: Suby Fan "when Cliton lied nobody died" -random bumper sticker So you're attacking the wrong guy. Howeve, your position on Rwanda begs an answer to the question "Why aren't we in the Sudan?" Plenty of genocide there, but we, as self appointed Cops of the World, are not. Why not? WGJ Go use the same quote 8 more times, WGJ. - Which one? Do you have a favorite? Nice of you to ask for more quotes. I aim to please. WGJ Last edited by WGJ; 06-17-2006 at 02:28 PM. |

It was satire in a way or more correctly sarcastic, and I don't have time to defend it right now other then I really don't care. clinton was so polarizing that Bush was the direct result. I hope we can move back to the middle with the next president. WGJ, I'm sure you and I can agree on that point.

Bin Laden still hasn't been caught with the entire world looking for him under a different mentality. You think it was easier then? The Saudi Government has wanted his head on a platter for a decade.

Oh Yeah, there was a time when the Sudan government offered him up to the Saudi Government, but they couldn't touch him due to the political climate in their country at the time.
The Sudan's then offered him to the U.S., who couldn't touch him, cause at the time, they had no case against him. This was way before the African Embassy bombings, much less the Cole incident. We didn't have anything on the guy.
