I don't think it would have any negative affect on it.

Re: oil change question
Hi guys,
I just picked up a SVX and need to change the oil as the car was sitting for a few months. What washer do I need for the drain plug? Is it a standard one across all Subarus? (I don't need any for my Forester since I have a quick drain valve installed, so I might have a few of those washers laying around) I'm also thinking high-mileage oil as the car has 185K on it. Any suggestions? (the Quaker and Castrol GTX is on sale at Autozone right now)

If you get the filter from a Subaru dealer they will have the washers there. If you don't, they will have the washers at a Subaru dealer and the filters are at least a good choice from a dealer anyway. Keith |

The worst result would be a positive one with no adverse affect on the engine oil pressure. Keith |

I am pretty sure but you need to compare... Sorry If I can find a way to check I will but too late tonight. You could call a Subaru dealer and ask if the part #'s are the same? Keith |

Re: oil change question
Hi Keith, Yes,the drain plug gasket is the same as other Subarus. Mobil 1 recommends a 10W30 if the temp does not go below zero. 5W30 if it goes below zero. Happy changing and take care, BOBB

Re: oil change question
Thanks you 2 for the help.
I just found one laying around so all I need is the oil and filter.
