Very nice! I've tossed the idea of doing that to my teal, and you just helped make up my mind!

Nice job.
I like the idea. My '94 S40 has the grey like Phil's does and is not too inspiring. If I was doing this I would not use colour, I would use piano gloss black. This would match most cars. It would require a very high gloss shine to make it properly suave and avoid just looking dark and dreary. One coat would be no good. It would need a couple of coats of clear for depth. ![]()

Thanks for the feedback
These plastic pieces are the worst for paint to stick to I hoped for a little better but I'm pleased

I still like the way that looks!
You needed to have used a primer/sealer. Plastic is finiky about automotive paints. Sometimes it lays smooth, sometimes it crazes, but mostly it attacks the plastic, giving you a close approximation of elephant skin. I've been a model builder for years....laquer & plastic are a headache without a good primer/sealer. For future reference, the el-cheapo primer at Wal-Mart is about the best I've found for blocking the paint from attacking the plastic. I saw someone mention Piano black a few posts up. I've actually considered that, at length. However my thoughts are that the interior would need to be more of a cream color to pull that off. I like that combo, when I redid the interior in my Pinto, I did cream & piano black.

you take out the rear seat, lower the top half and pop two clips out on each side. Then the whole panel can be pulled up and out.
unplug the switch and its out.
