...why on earth did you do it that way? its going to be VERY hard to get the hood straight with filler in every chip. It would be wiser to feather the chips out, or better yet, use paiint stripper on the hood and fill any dents before priming
spot filler like that should be used only for one or two chips on a touch up job

What did I do today?
After spending an hour trying to start a vehicle so I could move it...I gave up and then I struggled in the pouring cold rain to put rotors on the red SVX. Needless to say I was muddy and soaked from head to toe after I was done.
I hope I don't get sick.

Feahering out that many chips would mean most of the hood would end up bare metal anyway, hence why id save some time and just use a chemical stripper, then fill any dents and prime it before bad weather came I only say this because with that kind of filler, especially, its tough to get everything smooth. And once you do, sometimes it'll shrink back on you after painting...and black is VERY unforgiving. lol, if you have any questions or anything, shoot me a pm

I am the first to admit when I don't know something. (like paint and body which I have done little of) I also admit to being lazy and not doing it correctly. The hood has rust and bondo on it already. It is wavy across the front edge too. I was just trying to paint the whole thing the same color as part of it was factory ebony mica and the other half was flat black. I plan to get a svxfiles hood and a real paint job this summer so this was just a quick fix. I have only put in about 4 hours so far, and when the weather warms back up (tomorrow) I am going to give it a quick sand and paint.
I know it may end up looking like crap, but we'll see. I have a cheap gun ($60 sears) and a crappy water filter which will give me sub-par results at best. The pics are more for others to laugh at anyway...

Here is the result of a less than $20 body work and paint job on the hood, front fenders and bumper. It isn't done yet as I still need to fix a few spots, put the basic result is good.

I took advantage of a nice day and a free weekend!
![]() ![]() I spent some of the day washing the bird $h!t off of the green car. ![]() ![]() I also washed the Bordeaux since it was a little dusty. Then I got bored and completely disected the bad SVX transmission that originally came out of the green SVX.

I drove around all day today....
in a loaner car from a Subaru dealer that has had my svx since last Monday.
I am the person that had the rough engine and spent all last weekend working on it. People taught me a lot about what components do, how they work, and doing the code thing. After getting the code 37 and replacing the left O2 sensor with no difference in performance ( it didn't fix it, and no more codes would come up) I wrestled with it till Monday late with a snow forecast my cold garage no longer sounded inviting. I had had it! I actually drove it to a dealer15 miles of freeway driving, 35 mph to 75mph! ![]() and they began testing it. They had to contact the factory and after 3 days found the right side 02 was also bad. part was on order Thursday and should be good to go on Monday. They are fantastic to me over there. Have assisted me in so many ways. Is the Subaru dealer in Auburn WA. This is not a recommendation for or against service there, I recommend that you fix it yourselves, like I always do... well, till now.! LOL I just weighed the cost of a car rental against getting it tested and the loaner, and snow coming tripped the balance. Please keep fingers crossed that this will actually fix it? We will do the praying and if you do that as well, please join us. Take care, Keith |

I hope that fix works for you. I would like to know which place it is for future reference. Smart Service is a very good place as well.

It was an SVX weekend!
![]() Friday, with Dustin (odepaj): 1. Replaced both of my o2 sensors 2. Reclamped rear driver's side brakeline - whose squeaky rattle was driving me insane. Saturday/Sunday, with Shaun (yourconfused): 1. Replaced the ball joint on the front driver's side 2. Replaced a clamp for the boot on my driver's side CV axle (and clean up the mess the loose one caused) 3. Replaced the rear driver's side strut 4. Replaced my oil pump switch on my power steering pump because the original was slowly breaking (see pics) 5. Added water wetter to my coolant 6. Replace one of the leaking bolt gromments on my valve cover gaskets 7. Discovered my starter was missing a nut and corrected that. lol 8. Corrected Shaun's horns ![]() Today: 1. Had Firestone do an alignment and balance/rotate tires. Sooo it was a long weekend but it was exciting to learn new things and I think I might actually be able to replicate some of this stuff again successfully. lol My SVX is also very happy now. ![]()
