look AF, two materials of the same substance never crack up... for example, Fiberglass, my rear bumper is made out of 4 seperate parts which are "glued" together... they never crack up !!!

Ooooo... now there would be a nice scoop to see chopped onto the SVX. Not sure if it would work as well with the car's lines like that Legacy one does... but it is a nice one (that I'd love to see) none-the-less.

I'm guessing you mean two pieces made of the same material. The C/F hood is only 1 piece... nothing pieced, joined, or glued together (unless you count the layers of carbon fiber). The hood is 100% carbon fiber. It is just that around the edges of the scoop where it meets the rest of the hood it is too weak, too thin of "walls," etc.. This is why in that area it apparently has a tendency to crack.

So who has had their hood crack? I only recall the one that was cracked during shipping.

This means two things:
The fiberglass is stronger than CF, because it gets stronger with more heat you subject it to. Even with a thin layer...
But i guess CF gets cracked with vibration and heat...

Mine is cracked on both sides of the scoop. Sucks too I can't even buy a new one. Mite have to go back to a stock hood or get this one fixed and then paint it.

I dunno if it works, but you can bring some fiberglass material, take out the CF hood, place it on its top, and apply some fiberglass to the scoop and hood from the inside to stop the cracking...

...and it would look SO GOOD on my pearl......

Rob,

I'm willing to talk about a group buy if we can get some kind of gaurantee against this cracking flaw.

$200 per hood ! ? !

That's an awesome price!

But they need an order for 100 of them... are they just messing w/ us

Id be willing to pay twice as much if we can do an order of 10.

Sorry, I'm confused. Is it the hood at the begining of this thread that is the 100+ descussion or the legacy hood? I like the first better the the latter.
