However, say your children are gone and you want to leave it to your grandchildren--hence you have skipped a generation---THE MAX TAX IS NOW 72 PERCENT THAT THE GOVERNMENT TAKES. I think nearly everyone that hates unfair taxes as much as I do would consider this totally unfair--no matter the size of the estate.

The inheritance tax is unconstitutional. You are not allowed to be taxed on the same income twice. If you live with your parents on a home that they bought with after-tax dollars, when you die, you have to pay tax on the value of the home? The income tax was already collected once, twice and in many heirloom homes, three or four times on the same original income...

Plus it is not even your house anymore. The Supreme Court decided that if a private firm wants to build condos where you now live, the government will take you land with minor compensation to give to the developers. No wonder they don't want us to have guns anymore.

Sweet, we've moved on to verbal irony!

I appreciate your comments as well, it's just unfortunate that I had to wait three months from the original "day without illegal immigrants" to hear them.

It is absolutely unconstitutional. Our filthy rich politicians allow it to go on. If we don't pay it the IRS (This country's equivalent to the SS regime) comes by arrests you in the dead of night and throws you in jail. Our filthy rich politicians allow it to go on.

The eminent domain issue you are talking about is also RIGHT ON THE MONEY. As I understand the law, it is only to be used as a last resort to help the government for say roads, water supplies and things of that sort of nature. Things good for everyone. It has come to pass it is now used to help our filthy rich politicians and their almost as filthy rich friends. Our filthy rich politicians allow it to go on.

Here's a really scary thought. They call it "purchasing a home". You can never really ever own a home here. Why? Taxes that's why! I purchase a home for say $100,00.00. I pay my taxes on it my whole life and pay it off. Each year for 40 years the value of the home has increased and likewise the taxes. I retire on a fix income in a home now worth say $750,000.00. My property taxes are now around $18,000.00 per year. I am on a fixed income. How can I afford to retire? Imagine if I had a home worth a couple of million. Our filthy rich politicians allow it to go on.

Once you pay off the damn thing why do you have to keep paying taxes on it? You shouldn't have to. Our filthy rich politicians allow it to go on.

And what the heck does, Sola lingua bona est lingua mortua, mean? I looked it up in several languages and the closest I could get was Italiano but even that was a partial interpretation. What language is that?

Well my kid didn't tell me about the political forum until a few days ago. I always just came here (to the SVX forums) for help or to help out SVX'ers. Mine is in such great condition if my kid didn't keep me posted I hardly ever checked in.

My God Man, is there no pleasing you?

Besides I said part of what I meant above before you began chastising me.

"Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes"
...that way you're a mile away and you have their shoes too!

I just took you for a little walk, maybe next time you'll think twice before starting with the personal attacks ("commie democrats", "Mr. ISO man", etc) or berating someone for straying from the original topic.

Maybe but then again if I think I am being berated I am not going to cut and run. I will "stand tall like the cedars of our land".

My perception of nemisis destroyer's, or whatever his/her name is, response to me was that of a personal attack. It was also, in my perception, very much like an attack the ISO would use. Changing subjects etc ... To be clear the far left democrats in my eyes are indeed borderline commies regardless of what Webster has to say about it. Please notice he did not deny he wasn't and he also got his two cents worth in in favor of socialism and communism. The ISO DOES THAT.

It is Latin... well, dog Latin for "The only good language is a dead language."

I stole the idea from Seraph's tag line from years ago.

Thanks I didn't think I was that bad at languages. I speak several. Latin isn't one. Sort of explains the partial, Italiano, interpretation.

If you're going to address me, it would be nice if you'd at least get my name right. Goes to show you're paying attention at least, and ideally, conveys a modicum of mutual respect.

And as for all that "the ISO does that" crap, please. Give it a rest. Almost every organisation on earth with an agenda tries to manipulate things to show themselves in a good light, or highlight their own ideals in the context of the subject at hand. Neo-cons do that too, Bill O'reily does it, Ann Coulter does it, governments of all kinds do it. It's called "spin," and you can't escape it. The best part is, I didn't even -get- my two cents in; all I did was point out your error.

If by "please notice he did not deny he wasn't" you mean that I did not deny being a communist, then you're correct. It's because I am one. If you meant it that I was a member of "ISO," then no, I'm not. In fact, I had never heard of them until you mentioned it in this thread. This is largely due to the fact that they don't have any presence in Canada, and also that they're not far enough "left" in their stance on some key issues (capitalism and corporations). They're more what you'd call "state capitalists," like China is now, or the former Soviet Union in the post-Khrushchev years.

Which brings me to contest your other mal-informed opinion in more direct terms. No, what you call "far left democrats" would be considered centrist or even right wing in many other countries of the world, like my homeland of Canada, or many of the European Union countries. Far from being communists.

Before you again rant about staying on topic, I will again remind you that discussing the woes of inheritance tax in this thread is just as much off topic as anything else that isn't about illegal immigrants. Besides, this thread has diverged from the topic at hand so many times that there isn't even a clear subject at hand at all anymore.

Most of what you spewed is not even worth the dignity of a response.

Reminding me about the discussion of the inheritance tax was what someone pointed out to me (I don't want to mention his name because I don't want a response from him). Then you attempt to impugn me by claiming I was ranting about going off topic. Please re-read what you claim were my rantings. I really don't think they qualify as rantings. I think it was just another of your vile attempts to start trouble.

Then you go on in your same paragraph and say, "Besides, this thread has diverged from the topic at hand ... Blather ... Blather ... Blather".

So you disagree in the same paragraph all the while trying trying to get a little insult in there. Over here in the states there is a name for people like you and it has nothing to do with your political views or affiliations at all.

Oh yes, my legendary vile attempts at starting trouble, because, everyone knows, I'm SUCH a troublemaker on these forums. Please. Stow it, buddy.

So, tell us, o great sorceror, what is your enlightened american name for "people like me"?
