Please refer to my original response. If proximity was his main concern, I am certain that he could have taken his car to his local Subaru dealer to promptly overpay for the same part.

I especially admire the fact that nobody has the nerve to chime in with the fact that SVXFiles uses these exact same axles at us, and nobody has had a problem with them.

We made a measly $20 from you Robert. I figure I deserve that much for the idiocy and degradation you have bestowed upon my integrity. Yes, we can replace the axle. No, you cannot have a refund.
I am so glad to see you guys sticking up for yourselves, Mike.

Mike and Tom have clearly gone above and beyond to help the situation here. What more can be asked of them? Nothing. This isn't Walmart.

Re: SVX parts... a ton!

The problem occurred here:

So, Tom, 2 different mechanics have looked at it and tried to make the axle work, but it is evidently a lost cause for this one. I will ship it back and try RAXLES axles. Thanks for trying to help, anyway.
When purchasing anything you can't simply assume that the part can be returned for a refund if something is wrong with it - especially once a mechanic (certified or not - from my personal experience) has placed their hands on it and installed it. It's rare that a part can be returned for a total refund after an install because there is no guarantee that the part wasn't damaged simply by the install. Your mechanic states when the boot was installed, it was wrinkled and he tried to "correct it" which he could not. (I've repaired my boot on my axle and I don't understand how/what he was doing would have fix it unless he thought he would remold the rubber to bend as he wished?)
An imperfection in the boot will not necessarily cause axle failure but them removing the clamp and trying to stretch it means the axle was apart and if not re-clamped properly could have allowed the metal ring, which keeps the axle joints in place, to slide out of place and is causing your clicking noise (which only comes from something inside the axle come miss-aligned).

this is were it got ugly:

For you to claim it is now used after it was installed new and found to be defective is the argument of a greedy, unscrupulous seller. I returned my defective Made in China water pump last week to its seller, who is not even a member here, and who offered me a refund, no problem. What is your problem?~ Robert
In no way was there ever a need for name calling and using demeaning words and instigating statements like "peddling", "made in china", "greedy", and "unscrupulous". Robert you jumped the gun and being unreasonably rude to the owner of the business, will not reward you with good service.
Tom runs a business and his policy is warranty replacement. It's simple, firm but fair - which can also be said of his words to explain it. As I stated earlier, warranty replacement a very common policy and for many reliable companies - large and small.
From Tom's stand point, he can't guarantee your mechanic didn't screw something up and so you want a refund for his screw up. Refunds typically only occur from places like eBay where they can't be bothered with warranties and just refund the money.

I think an apology to Tom/Mike is in order for your rudness, Robert. I can sorta read how posts were possibly interpreted as being harsh because of their simplicity but none was ever intended or really implied. So flying off the handle and trying to cut down their business, was not the correct response.

If you didn't want a "made in china" product, then you should not have ordered one. Just about everything is made there, expensive and cheap things, so trying to talk down about a product based on its origin is just plain ignorant.

where is the popcorn smiley?? oh wait.. this isn't nasioc..
