Wow! That's some serious hp gain! Try and run a 1/4 mile with the g-tech if you can find an empty, straight lonely road.
If not I'll have to wait until you race this weekend... -Chike P.S. I haven't used AIM since college but I could sign up again with Yahoo or something... Quote:

I had a gtech. I ran a 13sec 1/4 in my svx according to the gtech.
I gave it to my friend that has a supra for free and chalked it up to a lesson learned.

Ok, I ran the setup today with the gtech on the windshield to calculate 1/4 mile times. Everything ran fine though top end performance wasn't what it should be. Basically as is I'm running too too rich but that's kind of what I wanted. You start out too rich and rejet till you get right. Better to be burn a couple of bottles of nitrous tuning than to blow an engine. I was really suprised that I smoked the tires. I didn't expect to have insufficient traction but I did. Nonetheless the svx still launches straight. Luckily we have lots of wheel well space for bigger tires, especially in the rear where most of the traction loss was. The shot came in hard and felt like to my experience to be somewhere in that 100-150 hp range where it was supposed to be; however, as rpms increased the power increase faded and time stripped on by waiting for gear changes. (I almost could have been sold on a 5spd today but don't tell anyone). This would seem to be a symptom of the being too rich. Anyway today's #'s are higher than I expected but no worries we seem to be on track to getting down to where we plan. We just seem to have come up richer than I was expecting. Today we ran 14.32 @ 101 mph according to the gtech.

longassname, that's an amazing trap speed! Look at my sig - when I ran a 13.64 in my Lightning that was my what I trapped at. With better traction, you could get a time in the mid to low 13's EASY!
Good job today! -Chike Quote:

Phil,
You just contradicted yourself. I know exactly what you mean about AWD cars having lower mph's due to the higher drivetrain loss - that's why I see VR4's run 13.9 at the track with a trap speed of just 97-98mph. A trap speed of 101mph on a 14.32 pass is crazy high even for a RWD car. As a rule-of-thumb, for a RWD car to do 14.0, it will need to trap at 100mph. With a trap speed of 101mph, I have witnessed EVO's/STI's and modified DSM's run as low as 13.3 in the 1/4 mile. -Chike Quote:

I ran a 14.99@93 Most WRX's running hi 13 low 14 are right around 100. PLus, getechs are not the rule, but rather good to compare numbers within itself. If you follow me. phil

Using the standard rear wheel drive drag calculators it does look like the trap speed I go should yield a better et. Some of the difference should be attribited to loss of traction but that doesn't explain all of it. Some more of it is likely the fault of the gtech. I'd still be curious to know more about the differences to expect in the calculations due to being awd. Does anyone actually know? I mean geniune information not just hypothesees and guesses. If so maybe we should start a thread discussing it.

i have a fwd guini pig if you are willing. I will make a payment plan to you and you can test ur kit on my car it should run about mid to low 13's in my car as long as i can keep my tires stuck, drag slicks will be nessecary
