Here's a pic of the course Saturday - each circle is 50ft (I assume in diameter?)

On such a small course with such tight corners, they must really want to keep peak speeds down...

STI driver design....

That will be a very fast course. Looking at the graphic, I see a lot of high speed cornering. Brake taps to settle the car and then accelerate through. STI's don't carve through corners, they bully their way through them. Makes sense to me. The proof will be in the walk through and on the first run.

The SM cars on this forum should keep up with them if you can manage the turbo.

The GS and HS cars should be able to hammer down the whole way and just use throttle for balance.

p.s. That was one tenth of a second = 2 car lengths (.1 seconds)

Actually Tom, this will give you an advantage. On these tight turns, if they don't drive it right, their T's will spin down and they lose all of their low end torque to pull out of the turns. Our engine has nice torque down low without having to wait for the turbo to spool up

Granted most of the guys with turbo's in SM have done this before, but that doesn't mean that they can do it right

Fun is what it is all about. Get too wrapped around the axle and not only do you no longer have fun, but you go slower.

That's what I thought at first, but it also mentions that the black line is 25' from the red line and there are 4 of those units to a circle. So that gives the circle a radius of 50'.

Sooooo.... That gives a distance of about 1/2 mile which makes a lot more sense for a 60 second course. At other events on this lot, when they weren't using as much of the lot for the track, the times were in the 45-50 area.

4 DAYS!!!!!!

I'm sure everyone will be bringing their cameras, webcams and camcorders to this event correct?

Anybody have any old rotors they can bring along to donate to Dave and me? Thinking of widening the track a bit.

I can come up with a mount inside the racer if anybody has a SMALL digital video camera that they are willing to let us use to record a couple of runs???

Small and lightweight is key to avoid coming loose with the TREMENDOUS G's the racer will be pulling in the turns It should also be able to record 3-4 minutes at a time (in case we want to record one of Bill's runs )
