Swat being compared to Nazis

Our town... Just look at my avatar. Unfortunately for them I take pleasure in going to court for every time they give my bogus-you had your high beams on- tickets. I am going on Friday again to argue a ticket I got for my truck while driving my SVX. Our 11 year old next door neighbor was with a friend back in the woods throwing rocks at an abandoned barn that was 80% caved in. Two cops driving along an adjoining road saw them and came running through the woods GUNS DRAWN!!!! I have had officers pull me over in my red car and try to give me a ticket for my exhaust and when I smile and tell them that it is stock they tell me that if I get fresh I won't be driving for a very long time. Cops follow me home with their headlights off, follow me home and sit at the end of our driveway until I get out and head in the house, a cop this summer pulled a kid out of his car because there was a bow in the backseat not in a case, and I am not some troubled seeking kid. I have a no record of any kind, live in a relatively nice middle class suburb, and yet these gung-ho wanna be Walker Texas Ranger bums are allowed to roam our streets with no one to answer to. Our police chief is a joke and he does nothing to reign in his officers ( I have spoken with him just to get rebuffed curtly). I like my town a lot, but the police issue is an embarassment.

Sure Id question their decision somewhere along the line, but
even if swat was needed for this guy, why involve the kids and
put them thru it all. Why not just wait till the guy goes to get
his mail or goes to work or the grocery store and stop him outside
the house ? Seems they could of implemented a different plan
of attack, that wasnt so much an attack.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should find how who is responsible for permitting or requiring it to happen. Who sent them and why. What conditions justify this as a response. Remember SWAT teams just have a standard procedure to follow for some very good reasons. They do ONLY what the ruling authorities let them or require them to do.

I would almost bet that if you tracked it back far enough you would get to some social services department like maybe child services etc. The same people that want to get involved if you discipline your own child.

They are great cops, great people. Never out of shape, always on time. 3 good kids. Aside from my dad and his father I am probably the least likeable, least motivated person in my family.
Not only that, their jurisdiction is in one of the deadliest cities in America and they maintain a level head without going around being an ass to people.

Now you know all you need to know. The story is they chose a marine because he was a bad-ass killing machine who doesn't take crap.


These kinds of stories do happen all the time, but I'm not just talking about home raids. Illegal stops and search and seizures are commonplace. Not around here, mind you. Anchorage has a very tight lock on it's police force and they are too busy dealing with drunkards, the homeless, and domestic disturbances to screw people around. I'm not a journalist so I don't need to provide any kind of proof. I just see what I see, reports from people who care to report about such things. I'll leave it up to you to do a simple keyword search on the internet. If you really do want "proof" you'll get it yourself.

Happens all the time but I just got pissed because I am now being footed w/ the bill. I say shoot the messenger because he/she is stupid enough to blindly follow through with the order.

Eg: If I get a file or print at work that is OK w/ a CAD/CAM program but not real-world acceptable then I suck it up and confront whoever is in charge of the thing and tell them what is wrong and what should be done to fix it and make it all good. These cops just act and do not appear to think. I have been told 'stop thinking' in the past. I don't have a piece of paper to back my thoughts, but cops are what they are. The perfect soldier has no thoughts and just does what he is told.

She would not have been the only consideration aside from the marine if she were not qualified.

Uhem... I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but SWAT is a militaristic branch of the police department to be called in when good cops can't get the job done because of difficult to deal with people, they are gonna piss people off, and the people who are such a problem that SWAT is called out are oblivious to the fact that THEY are the problem, so by definition they are the people who will think that SWAT = Nazi, I've had my fair share of run ins with A-hole cops over the years and all left in a descent mood without bothering me, other than the really anoying reasons they were pulling me over...like stoping at a stop sign, so many people run them that I guess it is easier to pull the drivers who stop?

Well obviously they were more interested in his military background, and the fact he is male. So yes, in their eyes he is more qualified.
