i thought they were exactly the same... i thought that was the whole basis of the eg33 engine, just 6 cylinder with the same stroke and bore as the 2.5

Nice, seems like an intersting system. The only thing I don't really like is it can only run for 15 seconds at a time. Now if you could keep it running for upto 10 minutes that would be nice. You would probablly need one hell of an alternator though.

yeah from what I have read abou that blower is that it actually does it in shots....like nitrous but in air form is almost instantly slams air in to the engine...so I would imagine pretty hard to tune...need some good engine management for that.

From what I have read online the bore and stroke of the EG33 and EJ22 are infact the same....

Take it easy, Micah

Fitting a blower.

There is only one problem to fitting a blower to the eg33,

WHERE TO FIT IT. under, over, or beside the engine.

All the rest can be overcome.

Harvey.

I don't know how useful this space would be, but I have a lot of room under the hood since moving my battery to the trunk. See http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/fil...x_umn/9244.JPG

Now that this problem is out of the way...

I remember talking about this spot before, the problem here is, as the motor moves on it's mounts, the blower would move up and down, hitting things.

I belive the blower could be mounted solid to the body in this spot, driven by a spring tensioned toothed belt. As the motor movement is rotation around the crankshaft, the distance between the crank and blower pulleys would remain the same. Any inerta movement of the motor would be allowed by the tensioner, and the toothed belt would allow any for and arft movement of the motor.

If all other spots fail, it might be worth a go.

Harvey.

Find the bore and stroke and then you'll convince me otherwise... The SVX's stroke is what??? 79mm or something like that??? I don't think I would trust putting something from another engine in my EG33... I heard that the SVX was designed diffrently than the EJ22... That's why I posted it...

Correct.

The EG33 (SVX) and the EJ22 (Legacy, Impreza) have interchangeable pistons.

Stock pistons from an early '90s Legacy Turbo would work great in a forced induction application.

But.... as Harvey said, finding a place to mount it is the primary problem.

Good luck!

That's where Kent and I considered mounting a Rotrex before the demise of his supercharger project.

So I was prooven wrong... Ya learn something new every day right...

I think if I really wanted a forced induction project, I would just want to swap in the Forester XT's engine... I have a freaking hardon for the sound of a Boxer 4!!!!!

i prefer the sound of a boxer 6... hell, if you could get a forced induction setup to work on our engines it would be one coolest engines ever... only other boxer 6 that i know of are made by porsche.... i mean, who wouldn't want 350 smooth hp, with some low down grunt to go a long with it...i know i would
