Beware!

Actually on a serious note, this is an issue that the Democrats should be very careful about. While their far left liberal money base supports it, the more moderate and majority (read family conservative blacks and hispanics) voting block are very much against it. This issue alone has the power to seriously split the Democratic party forever. Why do you think Bush chose this time to really push the issue?

So what if we do lose some of our population to the North. Not much of a loss probably.

The Republicans did put the subject of Gay Marriage on the docket in several states during the national elections. And it did cause a bunch of neo-cons to sober up long enough to fire up their 79 Trans Am's and go vote.

And while they were there, Bush was the only single syllable word in the Presidential block, and it sounded like a beer product....

You may have a point here.

Man.... Those republicans sure know how to manipulate dumb people.

If the democrats thought like the republicans, than this may be the case. But from my personal experience, the democrats have less of a herd mentality. You can be a "democrat" without getting brainwashed into believing everything the party stands for is set in stone.

Before you make that bold statement I think you should reflect on the voting majority of the Democratic party and maybe even watch some current news. Like I said, there are large numbers of Democrats that are traditionally family oriented and to attack that institution will lose many of them. There are some things you can play with and manipulate but real or perceived family values is NOT one of them--no matter which party.

Let the states deal with it like it's always been. The federal government has more pressing matters to attend to
(TEN TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT).

That is all.

LOL!!!

When I was 18, my parents were hoping I'd find a nice doctor or lawyer or engineer from a similar cultural and social background.

When I was 25, my parents were hoping I'd find a nice university educated man from a respectable family.

When I hit 35, my parents were hoping I'd find a man.

I got married at 37

B-b-bordering On Unspeakable...

as a FISCAL CONSERVATIVE I find the words,

TEN TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT

border on unspeakable. How many friggin' zeros is that? O MY GAWD! So much for Clinton's surplus. In the Bush admin. a penny saved only comes in the form of tax cuts for the rich, otherwise it's spend, spend, spend.

The horror, the horror...
