Those markings are present on the EG33 case. The timing belt covers are a identical in appearance to the timing belt covers for an EG33. I don't see what else it could be.

Ok so it's a phantom one-off block that looks exactly like an EG33 but has something else stamped into it.

That's an EG33. I can take pictures of one that doesn't have any manifolds or other crap obscuring the top of the block at work tomorrow if anyone needs any convincing.

Besides, it's simple process of elimination. It's defenitely not an ER27. It's defenitely not an EZ30. It's possible they cast an entire new block with Subaru factory markings but not bloody likely. It isn't a mystery phantom Subaru R&D engine. That means it's an EG33. Done and out.

Agreed. It's definitely not the EZ30 as that engine uses a timing chain which is encased in a metal cover.

In the pic, you can clearly see the timing cover is black plastic.

P.S. Here's another pic of the EZ30:

How easy we all forget. It's an eg33 that they claimed has been stroked out to 3.5L the max they could go. It has been posted before over here.

Guess you don't know what you're talking about

I'm sure the block has been heavily modified. I'm trying to find out what they are doing, and if they will make the mods commercially available in a watered down form for those of us who just want a measly 500HP

Probably the ugliest motor I have ever seen. Even a 5 hp briggs and stratton looks good next to it. Must be that big timing chain cover - do they have enough bolts holding that thing on?

Nope...it's used in the Tribeca, Outback wagon and sedan. The XT6 had a 2.7L engine.

They must really want to keep all dust & moisture away from that chain! Really is nasty to look at...

A little advice to AWDSVXH6

You know, you started this, not me. Perhaps next time you will present your opinions with a bit more respect of the people that are on this website, most of whom are old enough to be your father, and who have extensive experience with these engines. Many of these people freely offer their assistance to others with no pay, and ask in return just a little courtousy. If you are unable to behave appropriately no one is going to take the time to assist you when you are in need.

You were wrong and rude about it and I slammed you back. Get over it.
