Re: Seat bolt problem and help needed

Yea now I have to pull my seat out and do the same. I might be able to do it if I got help to hold it side ways and not have to unplug and draw it out. Heave sucker. Wish I had the rivnut when the car was empty

Re: Seat bolt problem and help needed

This is the You Tube idea we used. See attached photo
A= 40mm or more threads 10mm bolt or cap screw
B= 10mm nut
C= nut just big enough to slip over (not engage) 10mm threads (used an English (inches) size nut of unknown size)
D= external star washer also English sized to match “C” and face of rivnut
E= rivnut

Drill out the hole if needed as to get a snug fit for the rivnut.
Lubricate bolt and mating faces of the nuts but not the star washer side. Screw on the rivnut to engage all its threads. Hold the bigger loose fit nut with a wrench or vice grips. Tighten the 10mm nut until a sudden increase in force is needed. Loosen the 10mm nut and remove the bolt and inspect the results. The rivnut should have pulled up nice and tight against the inside of the SVX channel metal.
