Hijack!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I know a lot of the Bay Area folks pay attention to this thread and I'm not sure where else you guys hang out.

Saturday (5/29) I saw an absolutely gorgeous SVX parked right by one of the entrances to a parking garage at Oakridge mall in San Jose. Black with very nice chrome 5 spoke rims, at least 17's, maybe larger. Looked very nice, at least from the quick glimpse I got in passing by from my in-laws' SUV. I would have put one the nwsvx flyers on the car if I had had one on me (CA folks are always welcome to join ).

Also a silver SVX going the opposite way on highway something-or-another out by Santa Cruz yesterday.

Sorry for the hijack, back to your regularly scheduled meet planning.

Hey Troy,

Sounds like Wes' car (blk97lsi). He's moving to San Jose from Sacramento, so it might be him. He takes really good care of it. He even treats the leather every month. The car is like new. Half the trunk is taken up with a kick ass stereo. He's coming to Reno.

I'm not familiar with "highway something-or-another" out of Santa Cruz. Must be one of those little known back roads.

Matt

I think I have been on that highway. I was comin' home with the last car and it has lots of curves. I think it also goes through that funny sounding place, and up and around over there. What ever!

So, I was going to room with a friend in Reno. Unfortunately, she just decided to move back to Cali.

I'm not sure what I should do. Getting a hotel room is completely out of the question at this point. I've a friend who has a summer cabin in Tahoe, but that's not exactly close to Reno.

Perhaps I should go to the meet on Friday, then head back to the cabin on Friday night... and meet with everyone on the Tahoe drive on Saturday? I'm not going to miss this for the world, but I may need some bright ideas from members here on the boards.

Expedia has rooms at LaQuinta for $80 per night. Good deal! If you have never stayed there before, it's like a Marriot Courtyard. The LaQuinta website lists a room, but for more than Expedia is charging. So book soon!

Exclamation

Anyone who still wants/needs a room at the Sands for Fri-Sat nights can still call Susan Gibbs at the Reno Tour Desk at 800-228-5376. There are 7 of the original 11 rooms I blocked available until the 11th. The rate is $69/night which includes tax. Just tell Susan you're calling about the car meet on 6/18-19.

Because finding a business that will let you do that in their parking lot is REAL easy.

If this is any consolation, I'd be willing to split a bill and room up if anyone is going to be tight on funds. This may help a few seeing as fundage for almost everyone is a bit tight with the prices of gas.
