Re: California members

A few days is plenty.... especially with bay area traffic. I blew by a toll booth unknowingly on the way to my big brothers place in SF and got a $45 fine mailed to me . The roads there are a cluster-bleep.... anyways you should check out a sharks game, theyre kicking behind this season.

So far so good with traffic this visit, but I think I'm out driving around on off-peak hours.

Wish I could have made it to the Sharks game the other night but we had a wedding to go to.

I've worked video for a minor league hockey team up in WA for all 6 seasons of their existence, so I'm thinking of seeing if the Sharks and/or the arena need some part time help in that regard once we move down here. It's cool getting paid to watch hockey!

I know some video guys up in Seattle. You ever deal with Victory Studios in Ballard? They've got a top notch DS operator there who's done some sports/news work. Great guy who does great work. Are you moving to the Bay or farther south?

Nice, another hockey fan It seems a lot of people talk down on hockey like its stupid or something Baseball is way too slow for me, football is 30 seconds of waiting for a 5 second play, basketball is too much scoring back in forth to get excited about..... hockey just hits that sweet spot of constant physical play coupled with excitement on goals and scoring chances, saves, and fighting Im a Colorado fan since thats where im from originally, but this season looks to be a bomber so far (stupid snowblower), even if we ARE 3-0 against the Red Wings

Re: California members

Hi there California people.

Just as a heads-up, Graham [f1SVX] who designed and built my Eaton blower fitment http://www.subaru-svx.net/photopost/data/545/medium/IMG_1685R.JPG is visiting Los Angeles on automotive business this week. He is wondering if any SVX owners in the area might like to meet him for a beer next Saturday 28th?

On Friday he is meeting Magnusson Corp to discuss and buy blowers, so he will be based in Ventura on Thursday and probably Friday night. He flies out Sunday morning, so he is free Saturday and would like to meet any of you SVX owners that are available for a beer.

Having checked roughly where some members are located, the following may not be too far away from his location [BTW, anybody close to San Buenaventura, can you recommend a good hotel to stay for a couple of nights? ]
Closest:
  • Paul Dexler
  • Phoenix 96
  • Sir Nate
  • So Cal LS-L
not in order of mileage, just generally close .
Next Closest:
  • 94 SVX Red
  • blackbeauty SVX
  • Nomake Wan
  • Hohopirates
  • MrBadFish
  • Cali SVX
  • ManofMayo
  • SVXthc
  • Leeson SVX
you guys are mostly south of LA.

Last but not least Graham already knows Ron [Need for Speed], but Ron is a heck of a drive away in Sutter Creek.

Anyway, if any of you LA SVX owners would like to meet an English SVX owner, please respond and I'll be happy to forward contact details for Graham, he would love to meet some Forum members if at all possible.

Joe

Re: California members

Hello again, Joe,
I've been trying to get these nearby members to do something for the 2.5 years I've been on the Forum. No one seems to want to drive 60-70 miles for a meet. It's truly frustrating, when all someone on the East Coast has to do is say "meet," and 30 cars show up.
Anyway, please have your friend call me, even before Friday, and we can make some plans. The weather also promises to be fine.
P.

Will do. Thanks Paul. I'll contact Graham in the morning.

He will be flying from London on Thursday, but also arriving LA Thursday.

I wish I could be there, I would love to visit the Museum sometime. I'm a fan of American metal, particularly Sixties or early Seventies cars.

Joe

Apologies, I did not include you in the list, as I'm not certain where in So Cal you live.

Unless you are haunting Calico

If you would like to meet up with Graham this Saturday, Paul Dexler has a meet organised, PM me and I'll send you contact details.

Re: California members

Yeah, I'm down. PM sent, and for reference I just moved to beautiful Topanga Canyon. I suspect I've got the prettiest commute in all of LA.

Thanks,
-Kit W.
