PS: taking the ABS system, not such a good idea...
It may not have been originally equipped with the ABS Danny.

My JDM Claret car, Plum, came without it. The English model came with it. I must admit there have only been two occasions where I have locked the fronts, and I don't travel too easy, like. The brake pedal is progressive and has good "feel" to it. The only time you are likely to lock up is if panic braking with poor grip on the road.

We've disabled the ABS on the SV-Rex for autocrossing. Still brakes well.

Was the ABS optional in the SVX ?? that I didn't know !! about poor roads, come over here guys and check the low quality asphalt of some roads which are dated from 20 or even 30 years ago. over here your car cannot live without the ABS...

Not sure you could call it optional as such.

In Japan, the base model did not have it standard. It also came without cruise, sunroof, heated seats or leather. Or airbags. Early Japanese cars[to 98] very scarce on airbags.

This was to keep the price low. You could buy the basic model, and have some or all of these items put in as options.

The top range models, one of which b3lha has in the UK, came with practically everything, including active four-wheel steering.

English or Euro spec cars came with a different spec again. Basically they came loaded, but with a few notable omissions. Like my black car, they had cruise, sunroof, leather, heated seats, ABS and so on. Things they did not have include rear spoiler, electrically closing door mirrors [you can steer them and heat them electrically, but not close them] and fog lights, having a blank plate where the JDMs have fog lamps in front. They have a few big improvements on the JDM cars, including glass headlights and headlight power wash, load adjustable headlights and two airbags as standard.

I'm planning to go Super-Spec with my Black Betty when I fix the engine problem. I'm putting all the worthwhile bits from the JDM car into it, while retaining the best of the Euro specs.

And hopefully supercharging the engine as well.

Joe

Dayle?

Check out Motorsport SVX

If Dayle does not have them, bet he could have a good guess where to go looking!

Not available in the States, but more fortunate countries could push a button and retract their mirrors...

They all fold from impact. The ones being referred to are made for cities and actually fold via a motor when parked.
