Maryland convoy

Does anyone from the MD/VA/DC area have an interest in meeting at a specific location and time on Friday and arriving en masse at canaan valley? I think that includes newsvx, go2svx, tsutsuhund, svxit and myself. We can email each other directly to set this up.

As a PLACE, Winchester, VA looks central to everybody, assuming I've got this map right-side-up. Even people from Delaware could find it, since they always travel with GPS systems called "naviguessers". The TIME could be the problem. I'm taking Friday off, BUT it's the last day of "stand-by" on jury duty for me. Yes, I wrote a letter begging for mercy (postponement), but no response yet. Let's see when everyone on the list had planned to leave, then take it from there.
Ron.

No Larry, OJ is still busy looking for the real killer.
I DID, however, get my reprieve from jury duty today - postponed 'til 12-10, so I'm cool for Friday. Meet time anyone? Ron.

Time will be an issue for me as well. I'm certain I can't take that Friday off. The other problem is traffic; 66 is a parking lot on Friday's so, from D.C., it would take me more than two hours to get there after work. Would someplace closer in like Springfield Mall be a better shot, or too far in the wrong direction?

Boy I left myself open for that one didn't I?

I don't have enough material for the shirts since I'm nearly at the end of this thread...

The latest count..

Just got off the phone with Joni at Canaan Valley, and her number of 10 reservations so far agrees with mine. I won't be holding the bag now, so I am breathing a sigh of relief. We still have 5 rooms in the block folks...

John from Bridgeport, WV....you still planning on coming? Rufus? Don

All,
Unfortunately, I have been forced to cancel our reservations to the meet in October. I have had one of those speed bumps of life, as they say, and have just gotten out of the hospital. I had one of those things called a heart attack - last Thursday. I'm doing fine, but still quite slow, to say the least. Had stints placed in two arteries and will likely have the third done sometime in October. Hence the canceling out - just don't know what will be going on in October. Sure will miss seeing all of you too. I was really looking forward to this meet!

BTW, everyone should double check their reservations - when my son called to cancel, they did not have mine, even though he had the "mailed" confirmation in his hand.

All take care - I'll be checking in more regularly now. I'm not sure when I'll be back at work.

Harry

Gee whiz Harry!

Great Scot! What a piece of news....you put your feet up and take it easy, OK?
While you are on the mend, you can grace us with your presence here more often.
Jean and I pray your procedure will go A-OK next month, and we will look forward to seeing you at one of the springtime meets.
Don and Jean

Dammit, Harry. What a lame excuse! Suck it up weinie!

You know I'm just kidding, Harry. I'll certainly miss seeing you again. Take it easy and get better soon. My family will add you to the list of those we pray for each night at the dinner table. But, from that ornery glint in your eye that I noticed in Snowshoe, I know you won't let something like this lick ya.

If we could find someone who was good friends with a med-evac crew maybe you could come up for a little while ---- oh, never mind. Get some rest, and take good care my friend. Hope to see you soon.
