Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Finished mounting the seats. Driver side now has 8way tilt, both have heat just need to make the harness.

that looks great. those seats definitely help hide the age of the car

The seats look like they were meant to be there.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

They match the center console better than I thought for being black seats. Driving more today with them they're pretty comfortable.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got the alignment done on it today, been putting it off for way too long. Only my rear camber was off

Now, looking for what to replace it with. I'm in need of a much newer/healthier car.

Fired up the 5-speed swap.

It's so nice to have the car off jack stands. I had forgotten how much better it looks with the wheels on.

Hooked up the trailer lights finally. Had the hitch on for 18 months, about time.

I finally got the stock radio back in. The last guy left such a mess with his splicing. With double antennas, I can now enjoy great reception!

I'll post a teaser shortly. I'm one of those clowns who refuses to show the car off as a "work in progress". Even though it will most likely be a work in progress forever.

So when I removed my rusty exhaust for the swap, the front Y-pipe broke right before the main cat. I saved both halves of the Y and cut the junk flanges off the back. The car is currently running just the Y, no main cat, nothing else. So it's loud. I have a full Stebro with the Euro resonated mid pipe, and I have a Magnaflow high flow cat, so the next step will be taking it to an exhaust shop to connect everything.

I still managed to take the car for a little shakedown test drive. I couldn't help myself. I got to about 4k rpm in 2nd gear. Ho-ly sh**.

I didn't want to be the guy testing his car with straight pipes on a public road, so I quickly coasted home. Plus it was raining, and my windshield wipers are not working. In the excitement of firing the car up for the first time, I guess I forgot to hook up the VSS.

Another quick question.. is everyone else's transmission dipstick buried? I'm using an old cable clutch 3.90 Impreza transmission and the dipstick ended up sort of underneath the intake to MAF tube. I had to check my transmission fluid from under the car.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Got the JDM BBS wheels and tires remounted and reinstalled Today.

I had a quart of silver paint sent from BBS direct from Germany (at $100/quart) No air shipping, so it took a while. BBS is very protective of their paint code and won't release it to anyone.

The wheels were stripped , resprayed and then clear powder coated. Transwheel used some of the leftover paint to paint a panel that could be scanned with a spectrophotometer and mixed by PPG. Transwheel now has an exact perfect match for the BBS wheels in case I, or anyone else need it in the future.

The problem before was that they couldn't get a big enough flat area of the wheel to scan. The spokes and waffle-weave center caps were not smooth enough or to get a reading.

Transwheel did a fantastic job and did not charge me for refinishing the wheels.

Complete silver, no polished outer rim as before. A brighter, more metallic finish and a perfect match to the center caps.
