Re: HID kits on the cheap.

try sharphid.com

nice guys and they sell bulbs separate and they are an EXACT match to the HID kit you ordered.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I'd be there by now if it'd do any good. They're sold out of 9005 and 9006 fittings and won't have any more until Monday. I told them today that they were about to have an irate customer in their office making a scene, and they laughed at me. I then asked if this was a joke they were playing (I can take a joke easier than incompetence) but apparently this is really how they do business. I can see the setup:

"How many weeks does it take to screw in a headlight?"

I'll call again tomorrow, and if I can get some or all of my money back I'll just call up SharpHID and see if they know the punchline.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

just throwing something out there
i doubt this company knew what they had coming; what i mean is that because ippoj told us of this deal, there have been MULTIPLE orders placed
the bulbs are extremely cheap, compared to what they were being sold at in the beginning of this year
so, while these bulbs/kits may not be exactly what we all expected, and the customer service may not have been great, you get what you pay for
think about how much money you are actually saving
i realize how frustrating it may be to not have your order correctly placed and shipped, but the price really is hard to beat

I hear your point, and normally I'm a pretty easy going guy. When it was just a bad bulb, or slow shipping I was understanding. But at this point I could have spent the same money buying from one of the zillion other HID suppliers (like SharpHID, or SVXfiles) and had them by now without dealing with a fool on the phone who thinks the whole thing is funny. If I buy items from a private seller I have different expectations than a company. I take my carrier very seriously, and expect that from professionals in any other industry. I know that if they pulled this in a TV commercial edit, they'd never work again... I've certainly fired people for less.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

Well I got mine today and they both worked. It seems that they don't match exactly. One seems a little more bluer than the other. I have to check this out further. I will post a pic for all of you to see 2morrow nite. I'm just happy they both work! They come in plain white boxes, no fancy packing or anything like that. I think this helps keep the cost down.

Hi,
Did you order the Apexcone (<$50) or the DDM (<$70)? Did you receive the slim 2pc ballast or the larger 1 pc. I ordered the cheaper Apexcone but received the smaller DDM ballasts. (Not complaining)

I ordered the $50 set and got exactly this. Same as the pic that techy101 posted

It has the two very small ballasts.

OK here are some pics of mine

Do they look a tiny bit different from each other or is it just me. Could it be an alignment issue, or will it take some time for them to burn in? At this point they have only been on a total of maybe 20 or 30 minutes or so.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I've noticed mine seem to have a long warm up time. I'd guess a good 5 seconds until they are at max power. Anyone else with the 55w seeing this?

Passenger side looks whiter to me.
