Transmission help needed
.
I am posting this here for a long-time SVXWN member (Tony Bauco ”huskymaniac”) He owns a beautiful 1996 polo with about 150,000 miles. Very diligently maintained and just went through a complete HG replacement. His car had no issues andwas performing extremely well... until this morning and got this text from him. ”I think the tranny on the polo went today. Odd thing is, no warning signs. it was fine this morning starting it up. I went into Harbor Freight, came out and it started acting odd. Seemed to go into reverse okay, though it did feel sluggish. In drive it feels like it only goes into second. Slow, sluggish, high RPM start and I never feel it upshift.” Any ideas on what to look for or suggestions or advice? Solenoid “C“ was replaced a while back and no problems since engine runs well and no CE codes. ATF replaced within the past year and still clean and pink. Since the engine is performing well, I would tend to eliminate the TPS and MAF. What is the best way to do a diagnostic on the TCU or pulling tranny codes on an OBDII SVX? Any insights would be appreciated. I am sure he will add more information as it comes up. .

Re: Transmission help needed
FIRST check and confirm the line pressure as instructed within the official manual.
